U might want to post photos of the areas in question, it will be more helpful for bees to determine if their lace is similar to urs, or if it is damaged. My first though was eyelash lace finishing, typically seen on necklines, but that is likely not what u r referring to, hard to tell without seeing.

Oh yes much better. I will say that my lace gown had several long strands of practically invisible strings like that. Like the lace has to be sewn onto the base fabric, and I’m sure manufacturers do not take the time to remove every little stray wisp. So personally, those did not bother me, and the ones that did got snipped off with scissors. Even the bits of frayed lace do not necessarily look like damage, to me. I would just snip off the ones that look like it would not cause unravelling further. Mine was an Enzoani though, so hopefully some Maggie girls can contribute.

As far as having stains on the inside, well, it could likely be that the dress was a sample. I would have a hard time believing anyone about something they were trying to sell online. Regardless, it looks like beautiful lace, and not near what I was envisioning by the description of the fray.

I have a lace Maggie Sottero dress and I bought mine from the boutique brand-new. It had a ton of those little strings all over it. My seamstress just snipped them off.
