My dress arrives in a few days...*fingers crossed*
I think that I am going veil-less...but we shall see once I get thee ol' dress on and have that "AH HAA" moment.
I will let you know my decision in a few days, wish me luck!
Congrats to you...by the way!
I'm going with a one-layer fingertip veil that has no beading or ribbon around the edge.
I wanted to wear a birdcage, but I feel like it might be too much with the beading at the top.
I got my veil today!! I ended up with a two tiered veil with raw edges. The top layer hits right below my shoulders and the bottom layer about 8 inches lower. I found it on Etsy and LOVE it!
I got a custom birdcage veil from unveiledbridaldesigns.com The lady is amazing and so personable. I emailed my thoughts and we went back and forth for a couple days until we came to a decision. I have a feather facinator with one bleached peacock feather and one red feather (as I am wearing red shoes- my fiance's favorite color!) I by no means think the dress has too much beading for a birdcage veil (as long as you choose a plain birdcage and don't add pearls or jewels to the netting itself)
If anyone out there has Maggie Sottero Milana in light gold...what did you flower girl dresses look like? Were they ivory?...I cant remember what the tulle on the bottom of the dress looks like and wonder if ivory is to light or if it would match at least the bottom of the dress.
I'm not doing flower girls, but as far as the dress's tulle goes...It's not exactly ivory, but a dark ivory would work. For a veil, I'm looking for tulle in the "cafe" color, but it might not work for dresses, because when it's gathered together, it looks brown. When it's spread out over the dress and skin, like a veil is, it matches perfectly, though. IMO, the tulle is more of a "buttery" color than ivory in person, but unless someone is right next to you and your FG's comparing colors, no one will notice. I think a darker ivory is fine....just don't go white. Here's a pic...just to prove that though the color is a little more gold in person, you really can't tell:

What type of veil are you wearing with your Milana? I purchased mine in diamond white and although it won't be here until May :( I'm already thinking of what type of veil to wear!
I don't want to cover up the details on the back so I'm thinking something with only one layer maybe a tulle birdcage to mimic the bottom.
What are you doing?
