I think the size 4 will be fine. When I tried on Maggies I was able to get into samples that were 2 sizes to small and have a good idea of how they would look because of the corset back.

You should be fine!  My measurements are very close to yours and I also ordered a 4.  The corset back gives you extra room and although I have yet to try my dress on I think we will be okay.  I’ll update you as soon as I go for my fitting, should be any day now.  Just curious which dress did you get?

My measurements are close to yours as well.. i have two maggie dresses.. the first one, they ordered a 6 for me.. the second was a 4 petite.. she said that i’m in between sizes and you can adjust the corset.  I was a bit confused as well since i have two different sizes ordered.. so we’ll see how it pans out.. i think the second one didnt want me to pay for alterations if i didnt have to.. the first dress already quoted me for alterations.. and i havent even gotten the dress yet!

@kmurley:Your dress is very pretty, I also love the sweet heart neckline on mine.  I ordered the Sabelle, 9 months ago.  I finally got a call literally 5 minutes ago that its in.  I’m going Saturday for my first fitting so I’ll let you know how it fits.:)

I think you’ll be fine with the corset back.  You’ll just have a little more of the laces showing… if it were 2-3 sizes too small it might excessive, but it sounds like you’re fine.

My measurements are similar to yours. I have the 6 because I bought mine preowned and that’s what size was available. The top is slightly big, but with putting bra cups and cinching in the corset, it fits perfectly and no alterations were necessary. My dress definitely has some give in size. I’m 5’4″ and have the regular length dress and it is the perfect length with 4″ heels. So I think with 5’5″ and flats that the petite length was a good option.

I also have similar measurements to you, just one size bigger in the bust and half an inch bigger in the hips. I ordered my Maggie dress in size 6. I tried on a 4 at the store (that was the only size they had in my dress) and it was a little tight in the hips and she couldn’t quite get the zipper all the way up (she was about an inch or so away). I am about half an inch bigger than you in the hips and I have a bigger bust, so a 4 might be ok for you. However, I also know that they can take out the dress by about half an inch if you need it, so even if the 4 is a little tight (which it might be) you should be able to get it taken out just a little so that it fits perfect. I wouldn’t worry too much about it. 🙂 And the petite length should be perfect for you!

I am a Maggie bride and I am normally between a size 6-8… however my bridal shop ordered at 10!! They said they would rather take it all in than have it be too small. (my back is a corset as well) I was surprised but I said ok… I trust them. You should trust your bridal shop too. I am sure everything will work out. 🙂
