First time posting here, just found my dress today its Maggie Sottero, Presca Marie! I love love love it. However I have never been a fan of Corset dresses. Always imagnied I would have the long buttons down the back.
They said I could do the corset on the inside and have the buttons down the back, but is that changing it too much? I am doing the gold/ivory color so that the ovory lace detail which I love pops more, along with a sash, not the one it is pictured with but a different one.
Anyone change the back of a Maggie dress from corset to buttons?
Also any real bride pictures of the gold/ivory color? The sound of “gold” underneath worries me, but it looks subtle enough but just a tinge darker to show the beautiful lace detail
Thanks so much!

I also prefer the button look and don’t think you would be changing that dress too much! It will be totally beautiful!

Thank you so much! Now I just have to decide if I want the flower belt that comes with it or a belt with some bling on it!!

ive been told by consultants that most maggies cannot be changed from corset to buttons unless that is an available option in the dress description. going from buttons to corset is no problem, however, so i thinks its a lil weird, but thats what ive been told.

I think that unless the designer is the one actually changing the back of the dress for you, you’ll need to order AT LEAST a size bigger to go from a corset to buttons due to that the corset dresses are meant to have lacing as part of the back and therefore there is not enough fabric. So I would look at ordering either one or two sizes bigger and altering it to fit you to make sure there is enough fabric to convert it. Depending on where you get your dress at, this could be a lot of money in alterations.

Thank you for the info. Kind of bummed. I just always wanted buttons down the back of my dress. But this dress has everything else I have ever wanted. Im not sure what to do now.

The Presca Marie was one of my top dresses until I found the dress I actually bought. I was also thinking of getting the ivory over light gold, which was the sample I tried on in the store. I think the color is really beautiful in person! It’s pretty subtle, nothing over the top. I also didn’t love the corset and would have preferred buttons. The bridal shop I was considering ordering from said it would probably be around $500 to alter it to buttons. Here are some pictures (the sample was quite a few sizes too big). Let me know if you want more pictures.

@Breezes71213: Hi there! I am actually planning on doing this on my dress. I have a Maggie Karena Royale. Once I have pictures I can post, although I won’t be getting my alterations done until February or so. 🙁

The dress looks amazing on you, and it is really nice to see real pictures of the color combo.
Im scared to ask which dress you actually wound up going with.
The other runner up was a dress so different from this one. It was a tiered lace and chiffon dress. Which I though went better with our rustic chic wedding, we are getting married at an apple orchard and the ceremony is up on a hill under 2 oak trees, I enter from the apple orchard and cross a meadow before I get to the isle. So I am also a little worried about the long train on the maggie dress. But honestly it is everything I have ever wanted minus the back. I will post picutres of both dresses. I do need an outsiders opinion. My sisters and 2 of my best friends know me so well and know that I am very old fashion and I refused to wear diamonds before my engagement ring and I always wear pearls and have always loved lace, and the traditional lace trimmed veil. So when they saw me in the maggie it just fit and felt right, but the other dress, which I didnt even get the name of, was me with a twist, and felt lighter.
I dont know what to do.
here is me in the Maggie
sorry I dont know how to size pictures and this one is blurry and i didnt know my sis was taking a picture
here is a picture of the front and back, really unsure about the corset back
here is the other dress
Sorry again that Im not smiling and not even paying attention, but this is the layered dress that I really liked, minus it not being my exact size but with my bust its hard to find that.
Any opinions would really help!!!
