@jbling1:

Hi ,

Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures to offer you, I found your post looking for the same thing via google. Anyway, I just ordered ‘Vanessa’ on Saturday!! I tried on a load of dresses and it really was the best one for me. My wedding date is the same as yours, weird!

If I find any pictures I’ll let you know 🙂

So you too took the plunge and bought it!! It’s nerve wracking once you have put the deposit down, however sure you are about the dress, you can’t help having doubts that you have made the right decision! I’m sure we have though, it’s a beautuful dress.

Where are you getting married? How long have you and you fiance been togther?

@jbling1:

We’ve been together 13 years! I thought he’d never ask! We got engaged in July when we were on Holiday in Sicily.

We live in the UK and will be getting married in a registry office in Dorset but the reception will be in my parents back garden. It means we can decorate a marquee how we want, and it will mean so much more to us as we grew up there! We met on our schools greek trip so we will be be brining in little touches of ancient greece to the wedding, hence the grecian style dress.

I have to wait till March till I see the dress again! At least it gives me plenty of time to choose my shoes!

What are you doing with your hair? My instinct is to go with curled and down and simple, but I keep being tempted by loose up do’s. I like this:

It look so pretty and would keep it out of my way? But I also like this:

Help!!

Hi

I ordered the ‘vanessa’ dress too!!! I ordered it on monday this week for our wedding in May 2011. The only problem I have is i’ve ordered it in all white, the gown i tried on in the shop was all ivory, i thought i wanted all white, i know i dont want the ivory one but since ordering it i’ve seem in on her wedsite in ivory and oyster ( very beautiful). Do you think i’ve made a mistake? I havent actually seen it in all white but thats the colour i thought i wanted when i started looking for ‘the dress’.

Does anyone have any ideas/pics/thoughts on the colour??

Help, i only have 1 week to change my mind on the colour.

P.S yes it is such a beautiful dress, i cant stop thinking about it, and my husband to be says that i havent stopped smiling since i found ‘the dress’.

@White Rose:

It’s all about what you think is right and what you want. You have to go with your instincts.

I worried about it when I had ordered mine – It’s such a huge purchase!!

I have gone for the Ivory and oyster and it is beautiful. The only thing that I would say, is that white can be a little stark and it is more difficult to wear against white skin. Ivory is a softer look against the skin. It depends on your complexion.

Have you tried on any white dresses? If not, go and try one on and see what you look like in pure white. If you can pull it off, go for it.

You will make the right decision in the end. Try not to over think it like I do…with everything!!

Let us know what you decide!

@quadnik: Thanks. I’ll go and have another look tomorrow. Why did you go for that colour choice?

@White Rose:

I chose Ivory because it looked better against my skin. I like the oyster colour in the band as it breaks up the dress a bit. I wasn’t keen on the all white/ivory look, a little bit of ‘colour’ made it for me. I have olive/gold tones in my skin and I just can’t pull off white without a sick tan!

This artical may help you decide:

Good luck.

Hi Girls

Thankyou so much for all the advice, i went for the all ivory. They didn’t have the white version in the shop but we looked at the other white dresses by maggie and her white is really white (if you know what i mean), stark and almost luminous! The ivory looks almost white so i’ll still have the same look. I am fair skined but we are getting married in the south of france in a garden and leagally I have to be out there for 1 month beofre the date ( such a shame ;-)) so hopefully my tan will be good by then? As for the oyster band, it is soooo beautiful but i wanted to keep the dress simple as like i said the wedding is in a garden in the mountains so its not a grand do.

I think i’ll be wearing the halter strap, i’ll see on the day, i initally wanted strapless but when the woman in the shop put it on me i loved it!, I love the bling! What about you?

I was thinking for my hair, i’ll have it mostly down and curly but swept to the side with a big flower in it. Veils dont seem to suit me as i have chubby cheeks 🙂 Although i’ll probably but one just incase i have a bad hair day – seriously i read an article that said it was a good fall back plan
