I made waaaay more, but totally by accident. I just got way into it and had too much fun, and didn't stop. I figure I can use them again, at some later date, for something else.
One for each guest.
Formula to candy calculation is (Amount of Guests) X (3)= (Total)/ (divide by 16) = YOUR ANSWER TO LBS. NEEDED. (just in case you needed this too)
To put it into perspective:
We did a favor bucket of candy for each guest. We ended up with around 50 bluckets left over at the end of the night, 40 of them with candy. This is after pushing favor buckets into our friends hands as they left. :)
@laylabelle -- lol, you are a girl after my own heart. i am making my bags right now and definitely am getting carried away...i stopped about 10 short at the moment as I contemplate my next move, haha!
@crebre80 - thanks for the candy equation! that's awesome! also, at what age (for a kid) do i count them as a "guest"? I mean, I will count everyone for like, fire code reasons, but would I count a 2 year old kid as getting a bag?
@FutureMrsDuff - see, this is what I am thinking...I don't want to have all this stuff left over....either way...
thank you all for responding so far! and if it matters, my guest count is apx 60...though my RSVPs are due next week and so far there are 48 definite YES's.
I wouldn't count a two year old as getting a bag, I'd think their parents would get it for them. How many kids are you having at the wedding? You could do a kids table with kid friendly yummies and put a baggie at their table with goodies for them (coloring book, candy, crayons, etc).

Kinda funny actually, I am really kind of a big kid myself and all the tables have drawable-writable table runners (I bought a big roll of paper and side punched edges) which will be my guestbook.

Hi hive!
I am doing a candy buffet and am working on favor bags for guests to load up! Hooray!!
Question though..how many bags should I have? All my candy is prepackaged so the bag is kind of "for show" really, if people went up and just "had a grab at it." Should I make enough bags for every single guest? Way less? Way more??
What say you, bees? :)
