So I recently (as in on Monday) found out that my 2 maids of honor have been up to no good working against me with my wonderful fiance.

A couple of months ago they told me they were going to try to make a trip out to Dallas to visit...and I needed to keep this weekend (sept 11-13) open.  Last week they said "take friday of next week off" Why I asked? They WILL NOT TELL ME!

My fiance knows what the plan is, they all 3 know I am a planner and I don't do well with suprises, and I hate not knowing what or where I will be....well needless to say they dont care about that...

I got a couple of text messages yesterday saying 1. pack some clothes (night time and day time and a swim suit) 2. Rene knows when you need to be ready 3. we love you.

I found out this morning at 7am--less than 24 hours til departure that I need to be ready for a 7am flight tomorrow morning....still no idea where or what and I'm stressed out a bit...

If they really went to planning all of this I am so suprised and happy and excited but again stressed all the same--yesterday was the official 2 month mark and suprises just are not on my to do list...lol

Anyone else have their maids and fiance plan something and not know about it?  What do I pack?!?

HAHAHA. This is AWESOME! I hate surprises, too, and they're totally messing with you. I love it! Let your guy pack for you. Since he's in the know!

Pack some khaki shorts and a cute t-shirt. Pack some tennis shoes and flip flops. Pack undies =]. Pack a cute going out dress and heels! Bring your swimsuit, sunscreen, makeup, and curling iron.

Roll with the punches and don't stress!

That sounds so fun!  You guys are gonna have a blast!  I'm a huge planner too, like I make lists in my sleep- its sick lol.  So I know it goes against everything I'm about when I say this but:  just go with the flow.  They are doing you more than one favor.  First, they're taking you on a trip you don't have to pay for- score!  Secondly, they are giving you one less thing to plan.  So this time you just get to sit back and enjoy.  And lastly, friends that do sweet things like that don't happen often, all you have to plan to do is show your appreciation.  HAVE FUN!!

PS.  Oh, and pack for like 5 days, that way all weather conditions and activities are taken care of!

Here's hoping I have enough packed!  LOL as of last night I had no idea if I was going anywhere this evening or tomorrow morning so I have about 7 outfits layed out...everything from jeans and a t-shirt, to a cocktail dress....I am holding out that its Florida (thats where we all went to school and where my lovely maids still live) so somewhat with the "orlando mindset" picked out some clothes.

Another friend knows the plan they have been working on (she's up in atlanta and promises its not an atlanta visit but she's also very jealous that she isnt going to see me)....so here's hoping all bases are covered.  They pointed out no need for the "hair tools" since they can take care of all that...oh the joys of being in a sorority and sharing everything LOL.

Worst case senario I told them since they have supplied minial details that if I dont have appropriate clothing they have to dress me Laughing

Now I just have to stop posting and actually work today!  So ANXIOUS!!!

Relax and have fun.  I sooo understand the stress because I do NOT like surprises!  Keep this in mind - if you underpack, you can always do a quick trip to a mall and get what you need!  I'm sure you have a great time wherever you end up because you'll be with your best gals!

Man, that is exciting! Just pack some shorts and a bathing suit, or like someone suggested, let the fiance do it since he knows what's going on! Just sit back and relax! I know you're going to have an awesome time!

How fun. I am very hard to surprise as well. Major planner, but I do strive to be more spontaneous. Sundresses are always easy and work for just about everything. Can't wait to hear your trip report!

Whatever it is, I'm sure it's going to be a blast!!!  I mean, you're told to bring a swimsuit and be prepared to fly?  Ahhhh....at this point, I'm wishing my bridesmaids would be up to "that" kind of no good! lol

But, I can sympathize with you Miss Disney.  I am the same exact way and hate surprises.  And the closer I get to the wedding, the more of a control freak/anti surprise girl I become!

This weekend away may be just what you need!  It sounds like a fabulous weekend that you didn't have to plan or pay for...so, let your girls spoil you!  Have fun and let us know how it goes! :)

thats so freakin awesome! enjoy it! i was extremely psyched when my sisters called me to confirm my bachelorette cruise had been booked and paid in full for two weeks from now - so i can imagine the excitement you are feeling! If its Florida, hope the weather is fabulous! Its my bridal shower saturday - which is outside, so I am praying for both of us for a rain free weekend in Florida! Enjoy & relax!

My girls are suprising me for the bachelorette in the same fashion - not telling me anything until the last minute, including whether or not I have to get on a plane. I WILL know when it's happening though I won't know what. I, too, HATE surprises. I mean, I made my FI tell me when I was getting my ring... so that should tell you something. I know they really want to do it this way, though, so fine. I'm excited and I trust them to plan something fabulous. Knowing me, though, once it gets closer to the time I'll obsess over squeezing info out of someone. I know who will crack under the pressure, too. :)

Thanks ladies I appriciate that excitement!  After the fiasco I had a couple of month ago (my original MOH was awful and backed out with no warning--just sending the RSVP LATE and with a NO) I have moved past all that though.

I told my MOHs that I didnt want showers or a party or anythign since it is a destination cruise wedding I didnt want them to spend anything but clearly spending is something they have done if a flight is involved!  I CAN NOT WAIT!!! only 3 and a half hours or work left!!

This is GREAT! I only hope I have people do this for me! Pack a pair of jeans for sure! They're great for day or night! Pack a top that can work both ways! Flip-flops and heels ... you'll have fun! I'm sure your maids will make sure you're relaxed and having fun!

This sounds so fun! I know what you mean, I'm a serious planner too. That would stress me out, but I know you're going to end up having TONS of fun.

Have fun, and make wise decisions! (I'm turning into my mother).

I just wanted to leave a little note letting you all know how AMAZING my weekend was with the suprise weekend get away!

I flew out of Dallas at 7am--and had a minor issue because my flight had to be re-routed but ended up in ORLANDO  and was greeted by not only my 2 maids of honor--but a suprise guest one of my closest friends who can not come to the wedding who flew in to be there this weekend from Atlanta.

We drove to the girls house and there it was all decorated for my bachelorette party weekend!

I am going to try to put up pics (once everyone sends them to me--I was not in charge of a camera)...then we just hung out had a couple cocktails and headed out to dinner at a sushi place downtown....the table was for 6 but there were only 5 of us...and they told me their other room mate was planning to come but was running late--I know her and we are close as well so I was looking forward to seeing her.

But as our first sake-tinis arrived (sake, with fruit blended together so taste!) i got yet ANOTHER suprise....another pledge sister who lives about 2 hours outside of Orlando and not able to take the time to come on the cruise arrived!  I was shocked!  What I didn't know was there was yet another mystery guest coming from NYC--but she missed her flight!  She did get in later in the night and would meet up with us on Saturday! YAY I could not be more excited and suprised by all of it then planning and everything....they also kept me in the dark about everything even where we were going each and every night!!!

The rest of the night was great, we went to a great little wine room and of course there were lacey bits (gifts) from all and even something from a friend who is out in LA and couldn't get there for the weekend!

Saturday we did a stop at the old sorority house and had a trip down "memory lane".  More suprises!!!  A friend who was back in Orlando from the sorority as well was able to make it!  Then they had rented a van to take us around for the night, we met up with my sorority big sister as well (she came out even though she had a fever!) and went to a great cuban place for dinner and then off to a dueling piano bar--which of course left me quite hung over for the the flight home.

All in all it was amazing and I am so excited for the wedding!!!  Now I need a super cute idea for thank you notes to send out to everyone!

That's so exciting.  It's nice when we get to "brag" about our friends and not have to vent about them!

That is so great, I'm glad you followed up with the info, I was wondering what happened.  Your friends are all really sweet and must care a lot about you.  That's a weekend you'll enjoying talking about for the rest of your life.  I'd give an extra special thank you by way of a lil gift to the girls that coordinated it, that couldn't of been easy.  And just a heartfelt cute card to the rest is fine.

Oh my gosh! You have some a-mazing girls! You're all obviously still really close after your sorority days - maybe you could do something with your letters?

How did the packing work out? Were you prepared?
