I know people have used boxes to mail invitations with starfish on them, but do you think an inner and outer envelope would be enough protection in the mail? The vision is to use a single pencil starfish about 1″ wide on top of the invitations where the raffia (used to hold everything together) is tied. I am thinking of doing a trial run before I commit to using the starfish.

Speechie: I would think that they would be crushed, after all most mail runs through machines if not handsorted.

you could always opt to buy the plastic cd/dvd cases, and remove the piece that hold the disc. then just wrapit in the brown packing paper. idk your colors, or your time frame, but you could buy a border style stamp and decorate the craft paper?

I ended up finding silver starfish charms that I will hang from the knot of the raffia. I’m going to save the starfish for centerpieces.
