@oracle: for the rsvp envelopes, i think your guests are supposed to put it on themselves. although we preprinted labels and stuck them on the back of the envelopes for all of our guests just in case...
Man i just sealed my envelopes i didn't put our guests return address on our RSVP cards.. I will put it on my website!
How could you put your guests' return address on the RSVP envelope? Isn't that something they would do?
That's not true. We've only had ONE with someone's return address and we've gotten a ton back. We even got one that had no stamp on it back!
@camrie:I'd never have believe it, if it didn't happen. I'm not anticipating having an issue with my RSVP cards - but, had I had this experience prior to having them printed, I would have put a return address on the cards.
I have experience working in the mail industry and the United States Postal Service has some of the most inconsistent procedures on this planet. Often, postal workers are not kept updated on processes and rule changes so people's experiences may be different depending on the post office location, postmaster, and postal carrier. To ensure your mail arrives at its destination timely it is best to take all precautions including adding your guest's return address for them. Even at that you are still not guaranteed for your mail to arrive, but at least you know you took every precaution necessary to ensure its arrival.
I think it is a good idea, albeit a bit of a hassle.
My sister didn't put return addresses on my shower invites(she was hosting), and so I had a ton of people calling me asking if they were invited. Then I had to ask my sister and she said yes, but didn't have any more invites to send out. So I had to call whomever back and give the details. AWKWARD! Lol, so through that experience both my sister and I learned to put a return address on EVERYTHING! As for my RSVP's we put our return address on there. So basically it was addressed to us and the return address was also to us.
@camrie: you didnt put stamp on the RSVP cards??? What the heck i wish i would have got some advise from you... we put stamps on all the RSVP cards and it was expensive!!! especially including the invitation stamps itself..
@jaylovessteez: I would definitely put a stamp on it if you want it returned promptly or at all.

About 15 invitations were mailed for my bridal shower. Turns out - 3 didn't arrive to their destination. There was no mailing address on the envelope and we were told that sometimes the post office doesn't deliver if there's no return address.
I'd never in my life heard of that happening!!! That's also freaking me out because I didn't put a return address on my RSVP envelopes!
I guess this is to say - if you haven't heard from a guest in a timely fashion - don't think twice about making those phone calls!! The invite may have never arrived (gah!)
