I can speak first hand.  My husband and I were married on July 4th and had MainLine Affair as our band for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.  My day would not have been the same.  They were AWESOME!  The ceremony music was perfect, I gave slight direction, and let them decide what fit.  It was perfect.  Unfortunately, I wasn’t around for cocktail hour (picture time!)  but everyone loved them.  Lastly, for the reception, they really worked on the stuff I requested, which wasn’t easy.  Our first dance was Ray LaMontagne, "you are the best thing."  it was perfect.  Father daughter dance was led zeppelin, thank you and mother son was what a wonderful world.  They really got the guests motivated and dancing.  I last minute (I think 3-4 days prior) asked them to play some talking heads, and to my surprised, pulled it off with a shou-out to me!!! They were very profession people, really made everything flow nicely.  DON’T BE FOOLED BY THE PRICE!  Even though they are on the lower end as far as pricing for a 8 piece band, they were amazing.  They really halped to make this special day everything I had ever dreamed of and more.  I HIGHLY reccommend to anyone and everyone.  Heck, I am trying to find an excuse to throw and party and have them again:)  best of luck for you and yours:)

I hate to say it, but I personally am suspicious of bridemary.  Too many vendors are going online posting positive information about themselves lately.  Here someone asks about Main Line Affair and suddenly a person who’s brand new to the site (joined yesterday, left her very first comment) happens to find the thread and leave this long, glowing message.  Granted, this could be a total coincidence.  I’ve definitely lurked in the comment threads and not posted anything!

okay well im not a new poster (obviously) and ill just say this — i went to college with the sax player and he is a GREAT guy. I can’t imagine he’d be playing for a crummy band! I actually might get in touch with him to see if he may be able to pull some strings for our wedding lol

Please let me introduce myself.  My name is Howard Goldstein and I founded Main Line Affair and I run Main Line Affair with 7 other people, each of whom is a quality person and a talented performer.

In order to monitor our reputation, we do web searches on ourselves.  I saw the post about us, and I was going to contact Mary, the 4th of July bride, anyway to give her some footage of her wedding.  I let her know of the post and she was a real sweetheart and went above and beyond in flattering us with her praise.

That being said, I didn’t know Mary or her husband six months ago, and they know us only as the folks who played music at their wedding.  So it is not a coincidence that she posted on that same day, but I would like to think that her comments were heartfelt, and that if she felt otherwise, she might have enjoyed the public opportunity to damage us.

Regarding the bride who is suspicious of our low price, well maybe when the recession is over and the calendar is full to my satisfaction, then we’ll start taking jobs at a price more to her expectations (which she’s welcome to pay us now, of course).

Until then, the whatever proof there is can be found in the pudding at http://www.mainlineaffair.com and http://www.youtube.com/user/mainlineaffairhoward

Best of luck! Hire Main Line Affair!

@GaBGal, great to hear! An honest review by a long time user is worth so much and lends so much credibility to the review.  I’m in Philly and (even after my initial skepticism) I’m looking into Main Line Affair now!
