Hi Bees…I guess I’m just looking for some pep talks…? Feelign some major dress regret right now! I have always had a bit of dress regret since I bought it, but I have been diagnosed with OCD, making decisions extrememly difficult for me…so having a little bit of regret is not anything new!
At my first fitting last month, I felt good in the dress…while I wasn’t blown away, it fit nicely. Yesterday I had my second fitting and while it “fit” something felt off. I felt like it didn’t fit as nicely as it did during the first fitting. I looked at pictures from both fittings and to me, it seems like the dress sat higher around my bust at the first fitting…so now I am thinking that if we hoist it up before lacing it, it will look better…but of course every negative thigns is going through my head…and it’s making me hate the whole dress! Now i want to go back to try it on to see if it will look better higher and if I can remove the petticoat underneath and all of this other stuff…ahhhh!
I have attached two pictures….the first is from my first fitting and the second from my second. I feel like it fit so much better before…

I think the dress looks beautiful on you! It really defines your waist and flatters your figure. It does look like it sat a little higher in the first picture… I think what you said about hoisting it up a little before lacing it up should help. I wouldn’t worry too much though – you look great in both pictures!

Your dress is gorgeous and looks amazing on you!

I really like it!!! I actually like it better without the veil covering up your shoulders… it shows off the neckline better =o)

It’s a beautiful dress & looks great on you! But I think I can see the uncertainty in your face in the second picture. I do like the first fitting better as well but I don’t know why. Does the second fitting look kind of tight to anyone else?

I think it looks pretty much the same height, is it possible just laced too tight in the second one? You’re beautiful and the dress is beautiful but the second one looks a teensy bit more…squished maybe? I’d support the girls alternatively like with a strapless bra or something else inside and independant of the dress so you can lace the dress more confortably. Teensy almost imperceptable difference only noticeable but us OCD gal’s (it was passed down by my Dad, yay genetics). Also, the veil is probably softening the first pic alot, so maybe that’s the difference too. I definitely wouldn’t regret the dress though! It looks great!

I agree with @LucyLaLa – it does look a little tight at the 2nd fitting. I would discuss your concerns with your seamstress – if you do figure out what exactly feels “off” there is still plenty of time to try and correct it!
Your dress is beautiful and you look amazing in it!

@LucyLaLa: I think that’s what I’m seeing too, not super tight but not as nicely fitting as the first one.

I agree with PP, it just looks a little tighter in the second photo. Who ever laced it up for you was just a little to enthusiastic 😛
It looks gorgeous on you, their is no need to worry (though my sister has OCD too, so I know that even if their is no ‘need’ to worry, your gonna do it anyways :P)
You will look like a million bucks on your wedding day!!!

Thanks girls, I do feel a little better. I left a message last night with the alterations department just to see if I could come in and try it on again. I’m sure once it is in the right place and laced properly, it will be ok. I just worry about everything.
All of your kind comments have definitely made me feel better about my choice, though! Just need to get the fit right!
@capergrrl: I laughed when you said that about the person who laced it up! When I was putting it on, I actually told the seamstress “go as tight as you can!” so i guess she took it to heart! I was concerned if it wasn’t tight enough on the top, the corners of my strapless bra would peak out…but that was probably only the case in the first fitting because she hadn’t took the top in a bit on each side!

@ethorn13: You can also add loops to the inside of the dress to thread your strapless bra through if you’re worried about it showing 🙂 I’ve seen other bees do it and it seems like a great, simple, easy solution.
