Send mom some thanksgiving goodies? I know it's VERY last minute but maybe a florist could drop somethin goff today?
I'm sorry, that really sucks =(
So sad! Can she maybe come on Saturday or Sunday, so you can still bond over the wedding tasks? :(
Total Bummer. Not much adive here; just know how stressful it is to have to cut budgets. I'm sure she would love the flowers idea!!!

My mom just called and told me that she can't come for Thanksgiving tomorrow. She lives 3 hours away, in a town she just moved to, and will wind up spending Thanksgiving alone now. Why? She's a museum director, and the financial management committee of her museum told her that she had to cut her budget by about 8% - and they want to see a revised budget by Friday morning. So it's not like it's worthwhile for FI and me to go to her, either - she said she'd be spending a lot of time working (plus we have 3 friends coming over tomorrow too).
The thing that upsets me the most is how much she was looking forward to it - we had been talking about it for a couple of months. Plus my wedding is the weekend after next, and we were going to do last-minute wedding things together, like putting together the OOT bags. She was looking forward to that too.
Anywho, I guess unless some miracle happens and she figures out a quick and substantial way to slash her budget this afternoon (and she doesn't want to let anyone go), she's not going to be here. I'm trying not to cry at work - I mean, I'll see her in just over a week - but still. :-(
