Woah! You need to find out why that’s a rule. If it’s a liquor license thing then perhaps you can get your own for the night (depending on the state) but that might cost you a lot. It’s a beautiful venue but if I couldn’t figure the hard booze issue, it would definitely be a deal breaker for me.

I couldn’t care less about booze (granted, I’m underage), LOOK AT THAT VENUE!

Put some rum in the punch, no one will know! Don’t let that venue go! :O

@EffieTrinket:  I want to live there. Honestly. I think your guests can forgive the lack of hard alcohol. They’ll be too busy gawking.

@EffieTrinket:  I think considering the business you’d be bringing to the venue, they would allow you to bring your own alcohol of your choice, provided you have a license. Then, I would go to Sam’s Club and buy in bulk. In fact, really, most people are happy with wine, champagne, and beer. I would only have one or two signature drinks with hard liquor if you want to keep your costs down.

Trust me, people looking to party can get drunk off anything. Including me. No shame here.

Then, if you have leftover drinks, you can return them to Sam’s, or throw another party, woo!

Yeah I’d spike the punch and go with the venue…it’s too beautiful to not choose.

We had a no spirits reception and people who wanted to get drunk still managed it. I think you will be fine, the no beer thing is a little weird, but whatever…it is beautiful!

@EffieTrinket:  I see what you mean. Well, my philsophy is that everything is negotiable, especially when there’s money involved, so definitely push for what you want before giving up! If you don’t feel comfortable bargaining, take a stubborn male with you. Unfortunately sometimes people take men more seriously than women when it comes to bargaining, but if it gets results, hey.

I’m sure everything will work out just fine. 🙂

I don’t think that anyone will be upset if there is not any hard liquor. Personally, I would be happy to have just a glass of wine. Btw your venue is absolutely gorgeous!
