Make-ahead dinner party help – need ideas!

    @oracle: Since its hot I would recommend making a nice medium rare roast beed(low and slow for a nice and tender roast) fresh rolls and whatever veggies you want.  Its cool and not super heavy for a hot summer evening.  And you dont have to turn your oven on to heat the house before guests come over.

    Its cool, easy and people can choose their favorite toppings such as a horseradish sauce, mayo, spicy mustard, creamy tarragon caper, roumalade, etc.

    And maybe a nice gazpacho as well! served with a little diced avocado and shredded crab.
