I'm not a fan of the MAC look or MAC makeup for a wedding type thing. They appeal to me as more of a trendy line rather than classic, though I am well aware they have classic colours like your neutral eyeshadows and traditional pinks in blushes.
If you are considering a counter, I really enjoy Becca, Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown, Stila, etc.
The price sounds reasonable, but I guess it depends on what is average in your area. I think it's a bonus you'll get makeup done on the same day as your engagement session!
Trust me that pales in comparision to the make up trials in the NYC area. I have make up artist quoting around $100 for trials and between $200-$300 for the final day of. Heck go with the $50. Bonus is you get to see how your make up will turn out in your photos.

The stylist I had originally hired to do my wedding day makeup is charging me $150 for the day and $50 for a trial. She was going to do the trial on Sunday morning, which coincidentally is my engagement session day, so I would've had my makeup done for that too. But now I think its kinda expensive. What other options do I have? Should I just go to the local MAC counter and get my makeup done there? Does anyone know makeup artists in the Miami/Ft.Laudy area?
