@sweetcream:  I’m using her too! Not getting married until November, but she has wonderful reviews and really nice!

There were a couple of brides who used her last summer on the bee too I think, one of which might have posted a review.

@sweetcream:

Found the review – moderndaisy used her.

I hear you about being triggershy to book…I looked at her and cheekadee, but have heard some eh things abouts cheekadee from one of my friends. Not bad, but not awesome either.

$250 is a lot, I agree. I am actually paying for my bridesmaid’s makeup, so that helped. Maybe your mom or MIL will want to get their makeup done too?

Most that I looked at were well outside of the price range I wanted to pay when I considered trial plus day of, or their minimum service fee was too high.  I’ve booked Bridal Beauty by Laura – she’s very reasonable and she does airbrush foundation.  http://www.thelaurasample.com/

Find the nearest Nordstroms and call the MAC counter, and ask for girls that do freelancing on the side. You should be able to find someone just as awesome for a lot less money.

@sweetcream: I used Cheekadee and everyone loved their makeup, especially me!  Emily was great to work with and a very calm presence on the day of the wedding.  I don’t think their prices are less than what Aleksandra quoted you though, but I thought it was worth every penny.  Good luck!  🙂

I used Cindy from Dylan Michael Cosmetics.  Her prices were a bit lower than that – I think it also depends on how many bridesmaids you have.  She did a great job, worked amazingly well with my hair person, kept to our schedule and was actually a really great personality to have the day on the wedding.  I think it is important to meet your potential stylists before booking, not really for a trial (which is clearly important) but also to ensure that your personalities match.  The day of can get pretty stressful and you want people around you who’ll help keep things calm.

I did contact Aleksandra but ultimately went with Cindy and I was glad I did.  Good luck!
