So I’m getting married in 26 days. I’ve had two hair and make up trials- the hair part of it went fine. I was happy with how it turned out. The make up part? Ugh. The same girl is doing both my hair & make up- her team is actually doing all of my bridesmaids hair & make up. I’ve seen pictures of her work and it looks great so I had high hopes going in to it.
I’m pretty good at doing my own make up- you all know it’s a process to find products that work with your skin, stay all day, don’t slide off, etc. Well, I’m 100% sure that the products she used are just crap on my skin. It looked really cakey and when I touched it, I literally left finger prints on my face. She used a primer and a setting spray and it still happened. The first trial was nothing like the picture I showed her. She put individual eyelashes on me and they were all wonky. She told me she doesn’t do full strips of lashes because they’re “too heavy” and brides don’t open their eyes as much as they should when they’re wearing them. The second trial, while much brighter than the first, had horrible eyeliner which made me look like I had no eyelid. Same foundation problems.
Like I said, I know how to do my own make up…but I just have this issue with doing my own make up for my wedding. What if I’m having an “off” day and it doesn’t look as good as it normally does? I can put on lashes myself and all of that but I just don’t know….I also don’t want to hurt this girls feelings. Like “you can do my bridesmaids make up but I’m going to do my own.” She does know that I’m VERY particular and even said “look, I’m not going to be able to make your make up look like you do it…only you can do that.” But I’m just hung up on it for some reason. Help!
