Fun poll / thread to appease my curiosities today.
What is the main brand of make-up you use? What do you like about it? Have you used other brands in the past and made a switch?
I use Clinique make-up. It is what my mom first bought me when she allowed me to start wearing make-up (it is also all she wears). I’ve always liked it because I’m very minimalist and natural with my make-up and their powders and shadows have been good for that.
I’ve never used much of other brands though. Since I like what I get with Clinique, I’ve never felt a need to change.
ETA: I tried to cover all of the brands I often hear of in the poll. Sorry if I missed yours!

I use whatever’s on sale at the drugstore. I don’t have much of a preference, probably because I only wear makeup maybe once a week!

Since I am a make-up artist I pretty much test everything under the sun.
I still find that French cosmetic brands are consistently the best. Make-up Forever, Dior, Chanel. Dior is actually made by the brand Visiora (cheaper).
I like MAC for the pigments, Smashbox has some great creme liners for subtle day wear (also great eyeshadows). I love Anna Sui’s lipsticks as they are moisturizing and last all day. The rest of her make-up line is just okay.
For mascara, I also go for Maybelline’s Great Lash or Dior Extase (much more expensive though).
I am a total make-up junkie even though I don’t wear much it myself!

I use Benefit makeup from Macy’s. I was recommended to the Benefit “Brow Bar” by my MOA for the wedding to get my eyebrows shaped and while I was there I had them do my makeup/show me their products and I love them, especially the foundation. It’s really light but has great coverage.

I use a mixture of products as i like different products from different lines:
- Foundation and Concealer – Estee Lauder – Very Light but gives great coverage
- Mascara – Lancome – Best Mascara I’ve ever used (i’ve tried many brands) as I have short lashes and they lengthen and look full without being to clumpy or flaking off.
- Lipstick/Eyeshadows/Blush – Mac
- Lip Gloss – Stila

I’m a huge makeup junkie and used to work as a makeup artist before going back to school, so I don’t really have one brand that I stick to. Although lately I’ve settled on my favorite products for certain things. I don’t wear foundation, so I won’t include that in my list! I’ll just list the use, the brand(s) and what I like about it.
Concealer: Makeup Forever- I like it because it goes on smooth and is waterproof. which is great for my sensitive eyes
Powder: Stila – I’ve been using this powder for ages because it blends well with my pale skin tone
Eyeshadow Primer: Urban Decay – Works the best of any eyeshadow primer I’ve tried. Keeps your eyeshadow on all day without fading.
Eyeshadow: Mostly Urban Decay, MAC and Makeup Forever – I like these brands because of the color ranges they provide and the quality of the products. The pigmentation of the shadows is also great.
Eyeliner: Urban Decay 24/7 Liners in various shades – This is by far my favorite eyeliner. It applies smoothly, lasts all day and comes in a ton of great colors.
Mascara: I’ve recently settled on using Benefits Bad Gal Lash – After going through many many mascaras, I’ve stuck with using this one. It goes on well with littlt to no clumping, doesn’t flake, and stays on.
Blush/Highlighter: NARS/MAC/Estee Lauder/Clarins – I switch out my blushes depending on the day/occasion, but these brands have great colors and staying power.
Lipstick/Gloss: NARS/MAC/Smashbox – My favorites because of colors and non-stickiness. 🙂

I’m all over the place. I use a combination, since one brand doesn’t make the best of everything.
Foundation – Revlon
Eye Primer – Sephora (although, I like UD’s)
Eyeshadow – Urban Decay
Mascara – Revlon and Mabelline
Concealer – Lancome
HD Powder – MUFE
Blush – Wet n Wild (or Nars)
Lips – Smashbox
Eyeliner – Revlon

You should make this a poll with multiple options– I used a handful of different things. I was raised a Clinique girl, but have branched out some. 😉

- Wedding: October 2011 - Bed & Breakfast
I have no loyalties. I want whatever works best for me in a given situation. My foundation is from Smashbox, my primer is from Nars, my powder is from Tarte, and my setting spray is from Urban Decay. My fav non-waterproof mascara is from Hourglass, but my fav waterproof one is L’Oreal. I equally love Laura Mercier and Buxom for glosses, and my current go-to lipstick is Clinique. Basically, I am a make-up slut. I get around. LOL

I have several main brands. I buy equal amounts of makeup from bobbi brown, laura mercier, chanel, lancome and dior.
It sounds like I wear a lot of makeup but I actually don’t, lol!

I have pretty sensitive skin and I also need my makeup to last all day (professional work environment) and I love Smashbox for face makeup- concealer, blush, contouring, but I love MAC for eye make up- primer and eye shadow. I also really like MAC brushes. They are investment pieces but they clean easily and last a very long time. Surprisingly, I only buy covergirl mascara. I just feel ripped off when I buy counter mascara and I feel like it always runs out quickly.
Foundation/blush/highlight powder/lips- Smashbox
Eye primer/eye shadows- MAC
Makeup brushes- MAC
Lips- Cait Cosmetics by Caitlin Murphy
The makeup artist who did my makeup for my wedding has started her own line of makeup and I LOVE her lipstick. It is the only lipstick that has ever lasted for 5+ hours on me.

I don’t wear makeup daily, but when I do put on a “day” face I wear the following:
Foundation, eyeshadow, eyebrow pencil and bronzer – YSL
Blush and powder – Stilla
Mascara and other Eye Shadow – Cover Girl
Lipstick – Buxom
Whenever I want to switch up my makeup I usually go to sephora and have them pack from lots of different bands so I never end up with just one.
My most recent make up counter visit was to YSL, hence all the makeup from there right now.
