I only leave the house without makeup on the weekends when I’m running quick errands. At the very least, I leave the house with eyeliner and mascara on. Usually though, it its a safe bet that if I am leaving the house, I have a full face of make-up on.  So, I don’t think its inappropriate at all. I honestly can’t think of any occasion where I would consider makeup inappropriate.

Makeup isn’t inappropriate for any occasion!  As long as you aren’t wearing really crazy club makeup or something, you probably look great!

I was never taught either.  And probably your FI either doesn’t see a difference with the makeup (guys don’t really notice that stuff) and wonders what you are asking him about lol.

My mother never wore makeup, and my sisters and I are kind of tomboys.  I just recently started wearing makeup (and I’m 30!).  I have to wear a suit every day for work, and I just don’t feel put together without makeup on.  FI hates that I wear makeup.

Now that I’m getting the hang of it, I feel like I look really nice with it on.  I’ll tell you how I learned.  Youtube.  I highly recommend the Beauty Broadcast videos.  I like her because she almost exclusively wears drugstore makeup rather than the expensive stuff.  I’ve gotten a ton of good tips from those videos.

My mom and sisters decided I was the family makeup expert, and I ended up doing my sister’s makeup for her wedding.

I hardly ever wear make up. Honestly I try to downplay my femininity at work so that my patients take me more seriously.

I agree with some of the PPs, i can’t think of any occasion where it would be INappropriate to be wearing makup. Even when I played sports, i would still wear mascara. Personal preference maybe. 🙂

I wear it when I feel like playing with colors or when I get bored. 🙂 So yep, I would say that’s totally appropriate!
