im used to doing my own hair and makeup and never like how anyone does it ;(
the last lady used my products and it was better but she wasn’t great…
my mom and sister are making me feel like I’m nuts

@byrdi: I’m too much of a perfectionist to let anyone near my makeup. So it’s DIY for me 🙂

I think hair and makeup is the hardest choice ( for me it is anyway). I have been going around in circles with hair and always changing my mind, i have my hair trial on the 12th so lets see how it goes, heres hoping i like it. I’m so fussy and want to look perfect on my wedding day.
I have had 2 makeup trials with the same person. Both times i had inspiration pics. If i go out anywhere i normally wear a lot of makeup, so the first time i had a dark eye, which i decided defs wasnt me and i hated it.
When i went back the second time we toned down the eyeshadow but kept the dark eyeliner and she nailed it.
Its definately trial and era. What looks good on someone else or on a picture doesnt always look good on ourselves. Its better to keep having trials until you get it right than be unhappy on your day.

@miss-stacie-2013: question for you ……have you paid for your makeup each time you’ve gone? Have you gone to the same person? The reason I ask is because I had my trial and did not care for it at all and it was $55 dollars. I want to give her another chance because perhaps she misunderstood me but I really dont want to waste another $55. Maybe I am a DIY bride in this category lol!

@anova1931: Yeh i paid each time. Thie first time was $60 for the dark eyes with airbrush which i didnt like. The second time i had my trial it was for an event so i paid $100 for hair and makeup. Both times were with the same person, it was my mistake that i didnt like the first trial because my inspiration pics didnt suit me and i chose a too dramatic look. Second time absolutely loved it and she did an amazing job.
Have you given her inspiration pics? Pics of not just what you like but what you don’t like so she knows what not to do aswell. Were there elements of what she did that you did like?

@miss-stacie-2013: That makes sense and I am so happy to hear that you loved the second trial 🙂 I did show her an idea of what I want and she stayrd true to that for most part but was way off on the eyelashes she applied (they were $25 and the same kimd I used when I was a cat for halloween in highschool) Her makeup color was way off. My skin was streeked on my next and it felt so heavy. I think I may have just answered my own question and need to try another salon 🙂 Its just confusing to me because it is a well known , highly reccommended salon!
