Well I'm not sure what your definition of affordable is, I looked around and found the most outrageous pricing in DC. We were originally thinking about getting married in Annapolis so I had a lot vendor info from that area. I ended up hiring Amie Decker Beauty to do the hair & makeup for myself and my bridesmaids. Even with the travel fee I found her to be so much more affordable than other DC vendors.

I don't know if you are able to do this, but all of my friends in DC got their makeup done by the Bobbi Brown counter and they looked AMAZING.  Really natural looking but photographs beautifully.  They bought some makeup to touch up on the day of and use afterwards.  One bride just went and had a tutorial from the girl at the counter so that she could replicate it exactly on the day of her wedding.  She spent about $200 for foundation, blush, eyeshadow, etc.  I would have done it too, but I have a morning wedding and couldn't do it.

Good luck trying to find anyone reasonable in DC! I went with Bridal Artistry. I loved Barbara and Ty, but it cost $450 for hair and makeup (which included the trial). They charge $85 for the bridal party for each service (makeup or hair).

I'm trying to get a girl from Bare Escentials to do my makeup and she told me that she charges $180 for just makeup.  I'm not worried about my hair as my mom is paying for my up-do! :)

bumping - i've been on the hunt for months and have had zero luck.  i don't trust a lot of people with my hair and makeup - it's a huge priority for me!

I'm using Devon Baltimore (out of VA) for my hair - already did my trial - really liked her! and she recommended Le Mariee - I've reached out for pricing, but haven't had my trial yet!

There's a great hairstylist- her name is Brie Cafferty and she's very amazing and reasonable- she's doing my hair for my wedding- $75/person I think per service.  http://briecafferty.com/

The girl who did my hair was fantastic and very sweet. She has a calming presence that was refreshing on the day of my wedding when everyone else was running around stressed out! Her name is Julie at J.Lynn Bridal Hair Design (www.jlynnweddings.com).

My makeup artist was also phenomenal. Everyone loved my makeup and one of my friends is using her for her own wedding in September! Her name is Susan Lim (http://susanmakeupartist.com/).

@TatyanaV:  I'm using Brie too for my October wedding- she was so easy going and didn't pressure at all.  I can just tell she'll be easy to have around while we're all getting ready on the big day, plus she was really good about interpreting what I wanted and then working with me to tweak it to make it look just right.
