I hope you found someone by now. However, your makeup artist should have helped you rebook someone. You should move on because it's water under the bridge. Did you take pictures? If you loved your look this is really important that you have a picture. If you dont have a picture the next best thing is a description of how the makeup was placed on your face. You can call the makeup artist that did your trial and ask him to give you a description of what he did. As a makeup aritst when I do a trial I record everthing on a face chart just so I remember the exact look. 

This is what's going to help you describe that look to a new artist. Also dont be afraid to try a new look. Your original aritst was great to you however, there are many talented artists out there who will give you better service and most likely even a better look then your original artist. So dont be scared : )
