Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but here it goes!
I had my makeup trial last Friday and while she did a great job, it wasn’t exactly the look I was going for. I’m not the best at explaining myself so I think I may have muddled the communication a bit, but her technique was amazing, and it was mainly just the colors that weren’t what I wanted. So I went ahead and wrote her a check for the deposit to book her and sent her an email the next morning with an update on how the makeup wore and pictures that better conveyed the look I was going for. I also wanted to make sure she could use individual lashes as the strip really bothered my eyes. I even mentioned that if necessary, I would schedule and pay for a second trial so we could get the look down.
I sent the email the day after the trial and another two days later along with a quick text. I still haven’t heard a response and my check hasn’t been cashed yet. Now I understand that people get busy, but I feel like some kind of response should have been made especially when the contract states that I can only cancel within 72 hours and it has now been 4, almost 5 days. Even if I had wanted to cancel I couldn’t as she’s been unreachable. I’m not sure what I should do. I’m seriously considering telling her that I plan to stop payment on the check until she contacts me. I’m very particular about my makeup and so this is a pretty big deal to me. I’m starting to get panicky and imagining my makeup NOT being what I wanted on my wedding day or in our engagement photos =/
Am I just overreacting or should I be concerned that I still haven’t heard anything?? Thanks Hive =)
