Hi - try Sally Duval. It looks like she does the natural look well. I think Miss Canary just had a trial with her and it looked great (plus, she does the natural look). Also try Kim Do...she does the natural look.
Nam Vo does San Francisco and New york. Check out www.makeupNV.com
I've seen some of her work on Asians and it is excellent in my opinion (I am Asian too so I always have my eye on the lookout!)
I vouch for Nam. She's moving to NY next year so available to do makeup on the east coast. I had her do my makeup and 4 of my bridesmaids. She was AWESOME. Worth every single penny. My bridesmaids range from girls who wear no makeup to girls who love makeup and she was able to please every single one.
She's a little more $$ than some artists, but worth it. Plus, I did not reapply at ALL during the entire night and my makeup stayed on perfectly.
I'm Asian and I've hired Laura Nadeau. When I went for my trial with her I said that I hate eyeshadow on me because I think it just makes my eyes look heavy, painted and sleepy. She totally understood and did a really great job--it looked really natural and I was really happy with it. She was the thrid trial I did and it was the only one where my fiance said, "I like it!" The others were more "OK, if you like it, do whatever you want." Never a good sign :-). Laura is a bit pricey (though not the most expensive I saw), but I think she's totally worth it.
Can someone recommend an artist that has experience doing Asian makeup in the LA/OC/SD area as well? Thanks!
For the LA/OC area, I've had my makeup done a few times (and a few friends of mine have had it done also) by Miki. Her Web site is http://www.femmedelafemme.com. I like tha she can make you look fresh, but of course she can do anything based on what you want. Good luck!
Does anyone know of any other artists in the OC area for asian makeup? Thanks!!

Hi, can anyone recommend an artist that has experience doing Asian makeup in the NY/NJ/PA area? Hair is not an issue, but I've had several makeovers at make up counters that did not impress me. I have double eyelids but no contour. When artists try to put eyeshadow in the browbone area, it just ends up looking like I have a lot of dark shadow on my eyelids. So I really need to find someone with some experience with putting makeup on Asian features. From looking through the blog and boards posts, I see that Sachiko Yanase, Ai Sakai, and Reiko Utsugi are pretty popular, any other suggestions? Please post their prices too if available. Thanks!
