I've worn glasses since I was in 5th grade and worn makeup off and on since highschool.  I 50/50 on wearing my specs day of the wedding.  Everyone says I'm not me w/o my specs.  Anyhow, is it possible to wear false lashed with specs or not?

I was wondering the same thing.  I like my glasses but everyone thinks I should go without on my wedding day.  And my FI wants false eye lashes but just in case I don't have time to grab a pair of contacts...will I be ok with the glasses and the lashes?  Good question!

I'd try to find a reason to do a trial before the wedding. Since there are so many different kinds of frames, false lashes could look fine with some and buggy with others.

I have the nerdy black rectangular frames and am wearing them on the day of (just cannot intentionally stick things in my eyes, but not for lack of trying), and everyone tells me they can't tell without just seeing me in fake lashes and glasses.

Hey guys! I wore my glasses during the wedding and reception (I also have the thick black rectangular frames), and made sure my eyes were definitely a little bit more "made-up". I know my eyelashes are too long already and hit my lenses (poor me, right?), so I didn't do fake lashes. i think it just depends on the distance between your lenses and your eyes! Feel free to look up my pics to see what I did with my makeup!

first of all, i apologize for my bad grammar on the original post.  i was half asleep when i wrote that.  i also wear thick black rectangular frames like some of you.  i have my trial this friday i'll have her do one eye first and see if it hits the glasses.  thanks again for all your help.

I wear glases and contacts and I find it hard to wear eye makeup with glasses and if I do it smudges on my glasses and my eyes don't stand out- I recommend wearing contacts for the wedding and then change into glasses for the reception if you think that is more you. That is a good compromise.

I was thinking about this today too, actually.  I've been wearing glasses since I was 2--I have some really complicated vision issues. :)  I'm just not "me" without glasses and getting contacts just for that is really not a great option for me either.  I would need gas permeable hard lenses--yuck!  So, I think I'm just going to have to get used to the idea that I'll have glasses even though I think they don't exactly "fit" with the whole wedding deal.

I've never had problems with makeup smearing on my lenses, and I used the powder mineral makeup on my wedding day, which I thought would have transfered really easily. I've never heard of it smudging onto glasses, and I've worn glasses for a very long time (and I'm a huge fan of eye makeup).

Like you, Yiska, I have complicated vision issues (cataract surgery!), and it's actually impossible for me to wear contacts. Since the glasses are so much a part of me to everyone, I think to not wear them would have looked odd. I've got to say that wearing something that isn't you, wouldn't fit the wedding deal! I totally agree with you. If you have a good makeup person, she can definitely make your eyes stand out more, IMHO.

I wear glasses and am totally planning to on my big day!  I don't wear makeup at all, and FI hates it.  So I'm going with natural barely there makeup for him, cuz that's how he likes me.  I would look so weird wearing very visible makeup after all these years, so I'm going back to when I did wear it to the lighter shades of eyeshadow and no mascara since my lashes always hit my lenses.  I say if you wear glasses, be proud and wear them on your wedding day. you want to look like you
