Oooooo I use laura mercier, too. I haven’t used Origins.

I have a tendency to be a bum and go to work with the foundation on, THEN the gym w/o wiping it off, then home, eat dinner, and finally wash it off at 8pm. It can make my face break out mildly, but only b/c I know I haven’t wiped my face off all freakin’ day, so that’s pretty good in my book

I’m partial to Laura Mercier, I just like how it feels on.  I don’t have too much experience with Origins, but I do like their Smileage Plus lipgloss.

Why are you thinking of switching?  Are you unhappy with LM/MAC?

funny – i had this same dilemma.  i switched from what i used to origins for a face care line. it really made me break out, now i’ve found out/heard that it reacts that way to people due to allergies with grass, plants, etc.   good to know, not after the fact 🙂  but i am going to use the laura mercier line for my wedding makeup. i haven’t used it before but my best friend that is doing my make up loves it and has used it for years! 🙂   update us on what you decide!

Origin’s foundation turned orange on me after a few hours of wear.

Laura Mercier and Origin’s shouldn’t even be in the same category as makeup.  I have Laura Mercier for over 6 years and it is such great quality.  Yes it is expensive but the lasting power of the makeup makes it worth the money.  I had Laura Mercier actually do my makeup at Saks about three years ago and she was the most down to earth person, kind of how I envision Bobby Brown to be.

I love to use Origins for my daily skin care routine, but LOVE Laura Mercier make up. I would suggest Laura Mercier make up over Origins make up in a heartbeat.

As a makeup Artist I really don’t recommend Orgins as I have had mixed results with every use from breakouts to oxidation etc. I like Mercier’s foundations they’re clean, smooth and natural but for wedding foundation I always either use Giorgio Armani silk foundation or Esta Lauders double wear foundation.

Giorgio Armani Silk foundation has a silicon base so it lasts forever. It’s build-able so if you like it natural or high amounts of coverage you can get it from the same bottle. The silicon fills in lines and scars making the skin look flawless but it also prevents the sweat from surfacing to the top so you always look matte and not shiny. I love to use the pearl iridescent mixer with the foundation; this give the foundation a glowing effect without being greasy.

Double wear by Este Lauder last twice as long as any foundation but is matte and full coverage. So this will cover any unwanted age spots etc. It’s great if you have oily skin or are scared of looking greasy in photos.

Hope this info helps!!!

Hmmm, for me LM and Origins have always been in totally different categories.  In my life, LM was great for natural-looking makeup, Origins good for skincare.  Origins’ makeup line wasn’t really anything to get excited about, in my book.  As an alternative, I do love Bobbi Brown makeup though.  Armani makes an excellent foundation, if the LM foundation isn’t working for you.

I had my make trial today and the girl used mostly laura mercier – I don’t want to touch my face b/c my skin looks so great.  This might be TMI, but, I’m a sweat-er, and it’s looking fabulous over 10 hours later.  I haven’t tried origins though, so i can’t compare.

I second the bobbi brown suggestion!  The only origins product I have tried was the eye gel stuff, which is supposed to de-puff your eyes but it made my eye area red and tingly … maybe try the origins products, then wait like a day or two to buy.

I use Laura Mercier undereye concealer which I love because it is creamy but as far as coverage goes its just ok.

Origins QuickHide! concealer is my absolute fav because it covers everything!  (Just cant be used for eyes because the consistency isnt right).  I never worry about getting pimples because I know I’ll have it covered.  I always wonder why it never makes it to the concealer top ten lists because it is just that awesome.  I even have my bf hooked on it!  Go tot he store and get a free sample of it.
