Does anyone know good places in Manhattan that provide makeup lessons? I will be getting married in Australia in the country so I'll have to do my own makeup on the day...
I don't know how much you're willing to spend. But I had makeup shopping and lessons with Raychel Wade at Cheek to Chic and I loved her! I now am much more competent with makeup ( I usually wear NOTHING on my face). Granted I didn't do my own makeup for my wedding... The only drawback is she is quite pricey. $325+ and that doesn't include makeup to buy. But just in case you're interested:
My makeup artist offers lessons - she's FABULOUS! www.loandco.com - Laura Nadeau. She's not only super-talented, but a great person to be around and the perfect person to teach you!
I feel pretty comfortable doing my own make up - not sure if I will hire someone to show me the way - although I did just pick up a good tip in June’s More magazine to resolve bags under the eyes.It said to start with applying a primer and then using a peach concealer to cover up brown, blue or purple under eye circles. And then for darker skin tones, it said to use a dark apricot colored concealer, so it sounds like the orange tone is universal.Has anyone tried that before?
