ha! I’m glad you spoke up about her application.  Could you just have her use your bare minerals for base?  That way she’s still doing the work and you don’t have to worry and it’ll be the same coverage that you’re use to?  Don’t forget to have her contour! I think it makes a huge difference in photos.

I also use minerals (different brand), and I felt a little uncomfortable with the look of my skin after my trial.  I felt like my skin was really shiny, and then I felt like I got a lot of cakey-ness in my smile lines as the day went on.  I let her know at the trial that I felt ‘shiny’.  So she knew to add more powder.  Then I added some of my PUR MINERAL makeup on top later in the day.

But when I looked back at the pictures of my wedding, I was so happy with the makeup. My skin looked great.  She had used MAC foundation.  I was glad that she had done the makeup the way that she did.

Contouring is when they put a bronzer or darker shade where your face typically carries a shadow.  It gives your face definition in photos so you don’t look so washed out.  Flawless skin is great but putting the same shade all over without the contouring might make your face look flater than it should.  I really liked how the contouring made my face look.  You can read Miss Rainbow’s explanation here http://www.weddingbee.com/2010/01/28/ace-your-face-pt-2-contouring/
