So, no offense to my motherland or my peoples…but I’ve noticed that in mexico, the brides are often, how shall I say….overdone in the makeup and hair department.
There are alot of shellacked ringlets and heavy, heavy makeup…
I’ve decided to be safe, to do my own makeup, since I”m rather good int hat department. I’m just going to buy all new makeup and do a trial in my home city and get some tips…not worried about that at all….but I am worried about the hair.
I don’t speak the best spanish, so how should i politley describe to the hair stylists what that I want it to look soft and natural…I will bring photos too.
Geez..I wish I could do my own hair but I suck at it.

Do you have a friend that speaks Spanish? If so, you could bring someone along and have them translate for you.. or learn like, a few KEY phrases relating to hair 🙂

i know what you mean!!
I’m a loose, wild hair wavy girl, and I remember for Mis Quince I wanted a specific hair do, actually something very on trend for the past few years… loose curls, with a little bump on the crown, side swept curls framing my face:
and my hairstylist ended up giving me something like this:
She seriouslly hair sprayed my hair to my head, with a ZIG-ZAG part!! and the curls where like 1/2″ barrel crispy curls…. ughhhh I wanted to cryyyy!! and she gave me those typical 2 long curls off the “sideburns” 🙁
So my mom wants her to do my hair for my wedding too, just cuz she’s easy to find and won’t care about coming to our house…. but I’m too scared she’ll give me that horrible typical hispanic hair do I don’t want!
What I’m thinking of is doing it myself, and there are plenty of tips on youtube so that you can get the exact look you want!

@debher: bhahaha!! That’s exactly what I’m talking about!!! And exactly what I’m afraid of. Yeah, I dunno, I am great at doing my own hair when I plan to wear it down but I really wanted an updo for the wedding.
I talked to another bride who got married in Germany and it was the same thing…they made her hair look something like this…and she ended up going back to her hotel suite, washing it out (took forever) and doing it herself.
