Are they long dresses? If so, could you add extra length to the dress so that they could add a mini train? That's what we're doing for my MOH. They'll put in a mini bustle too. You could make her bouquet a little bit different than the other girls too.
How about adding a red sash to your MOH's dress? Making her bouquet a bit different is also a good idea.
I think that different flowers would be a nice option...maybe a more elaborate bouquet? Also, the accessories you have people wear can really tone up/down their outfit. For instance, if all the BM wore white jewelery, and the MOH wore red. Or, if the MOH wore more elaborate types of jewelery, or hair accessories...or white shoes for the BM and red for the MOH?
I think in my mind, because red is such a vibrant color, all you would need is a few extra spalshes of it/details of it to make someone stand out. And as one who is more for subtely rather than super over the top, I think it would be a great balance of distinguishing her without making her SOOOO different.
red accessories? like, depending on the style of the dress, a red statement necklace like this could be cute http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/catalog/productdetail.jsp?subCategoryId=&id=19318922&catId=JEWELRY-NECKLACES-STATEMENTS&pushId=JEWELRY-NECKLACES-STATEMENTS&popId=JEWELRY-NECKLACES&sortProperties=&navCount=45&navAction=middle&fromCategoryPage=true&selectedProductSize=&selectedProductSize1=&color=046&isSubcategory=&isProduct=true&isBigImage=&templateType=D
These are great ideas ladies! thanks, i love the idea of the different bouquet and the jewlery.....the train is an awesome idea as well, i never thought of that. They are all long dresses. My original thought was a sash but i dont know how keen she will be to that idea.
My MOH didn't want to look different from the other BM, but I offered that instead of having the grape dress with a berry sash, she could have inverted the colors, by having a berry dress with grape sash, but she didn't want that. Her bouquet was a little different, with a few more pops of color than the bridesmaids.
I would do all the same dresses and make her stand out in a different way.

we ordered bridesmaids dresses last night!
here is a little background: we are having the girls in black dresses with red flowers, all the guys will be in black tuxes with black vests and black ties, obviously be in white and my groom will be in a black tux with a white vest and tie. all with red boutineers My mom called and asked if we should put my sister (MOH) in a red dress.
i love the idea of making my MOH stand out and originally i thought putting her in red would be great except now that im thinking about it i think it will look a little off with everyone in black except for me and her so i told my mom to order a black dress for her as well.
I need some suggestions on how to make my MOH stand out from the rest of the girls.
