I recently purchased a sample taffeta dress (maggie sottero decadence). I love the dress but I was wondering if there is any way to make the pickups stand up more? The pickups are slightly flat looking due to it being tried on and smooshed in between other dresses. I was unsure whether steaming my dress would help or if there is anything else i can do. Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I think steaming would help a lot. It can make a huge difference when it comes to adding more ‘oomph’ to fabric. Take it to a wedding dress dry cleaner, they can work wonders!

I’m going to be making my gown more poofy as well! I’m going to try on a hoop slip at my next fitting!

Thanks guys! I was a little concerned and wasn’t sure if steam could put a little life back into my dress and now I’m more confident!

I used a hoop skirt to make my dress more poofy. Also made the ruffles lie a little better:

I wore a mega full 6 hoop skirt under my dress to fill it out so I wouldn’t have to hem the bottom.
