So.. this is just b/c I'm excited to put some of "us" into our new place. Since money for decor is out right now I took about an hr or so and did some really simple DIY projects.

FIRST... I had some frames that I didn't really like the color of SO... I COVERED them with some leftover printed paper that I used for the wedding!

    Before:

    After:

Drawing of DH by the wonderful munchkin!.. DH is a carpenter! hehe

And THEN b/c I love paper flowers so much!!!!

(seriously only took me like 30 minutes)

So now our very first side coffee table!

    I'm happy =)

Cute! I love the paper flowers! I'm going to have to remember that, I'm kind of meh about real flowers (plus they don't last very long!) and I love the way those look!

@MrsStormy: Here's a great tutorial! I just use a dab of craft glue to keep them together & then poked a hole in them and pushed the dowel through... I made 10 flowers and it took a total of 30 minutes =)

What's really funny is I've already changed the vase and moved stuff around... lol!

Those are so cute.  I wish I was creative enough to 1. think of that on my own and 2. make them look so nice.  Good job!  I love an inexpensive decorating tip!

@Loribeth: YES! I found the most perfect oversized pic yesterday for our living room wall for TEN BUCKS!!!!!! Getting stuff up in the kitchen and stuff on the walls has helped so much! Only things left really is curtains (which I'm determined to make myself) and wall decor for our room. =)

@amnystik:  Wow!  What a deal!   I've made curtains before from flat bed sheets. It's really easy, because you basically only have to sew a straight line to make room for the curtain rod.

I love those paper flowers! I've been meaning to make a whole bunch of them to put in milk glass vases, but with two cats who love to destroy paper...maybe not such a great idea.
