In November I joined a dance class for half an hour once a week, In february I joined another at another school. I did a show in June and got the bug, and I now do 5 classes at 2 different schools :) I'm making up for lost opportunity when I was younger.

I'm on a mission to be bendier. I want to do the splits again one day (not much room to practice in my room though).

Yesterday at dancing when we were doing stretches I managed to do one all the way! I've been trying to do it for months. You sit with your legs in a V shape and reach for your toes of one leg, then try and put your head on your knee. It isn't easy if you don't do flexible stuff all the time. I'm quite bendy anyway, but I'm adding to it :D

Yay for progress.  This post makes me miss danceFrown  I danced all the way up until college and then couldnt find the time or a good place to continue it.  I will still pull out my ballet shoes and do turns around my house on pointe just to see if I still can... Maybe one day I will get back into it...

Have fun dancing and keep up the good work.  I understand how hard it is to get flexiblity back and how irritating it is not to be able to do something you used to do easy.

Aww, its good that you still practice from time to time :)

To be fair, I haven't done the splits since I was 3. I used to go to a starters class, but I stopped going when mum and dad couldn't afford for me to go, it fell by the wayside. I always ALWAYS missed it, and wondered what would have happened if I hadn't left. So I decided to go back, and I go to another one with a girl from work which I enjoy too. I love it to bits and I don't care who laughs at me for trying to learn how to dance. I'm just learning the VERY basics of ballet, I'm frustrated that I can't shuffle properly for tap, but I LOVE it :)

Yay for you!  I've never really been able to do straddle splits, but used to be able to do them the other way.  It's great to keep active, especially as our bodies start to get older.  My dad always tells me to never stop stretching.
