Your colors are gorgeous.  Either way would be just fine.   I’m having my fiance as the only one with an ivory tie so he goes with me and the groomsmen have a tie to go with the bridesmaids.  I think it ties the wedding party a bit more as well as makes your fiance more distinct (my fiance really wanted that), but all ivory is a fine look too.  It all depends on the cost.  Maybe the ties could be part or the groomsmen gift.

I think something like that would look nice. Us brides get to stand out a bit, so I think our FI’s can have a bit of a moment too.

linnylou_88:  that would look good.  Are you wearing ivory?  If so you might want your fiance to match you at least as well as the groomsmen.   Honestly though I think all your ideas would look great.  Maybe ask your fiance what he would like to wear.

We are doing FI with a different boutonniere color and FI in a bow tie and groomsmen in regular ties. Not sure if changing this style for your groom is something you might consider.

He will already stand out as the handsomest man in the group – I think a different boutonniere is sufficient 🙂 If you like the ivory cravat and he likes the ivory cravat then there’s nothing to worry about

A boutonierre is sufficient, but the different tie would be alright too.  I vote on the side of not matching the bridesmaids; it makes the men a little like a matching handbag.  Solid satin ties in a bright colour are not that great of a look, generally, so ivory is better.  I would go grey/silver over ivory, personally, if you want a subtle, sedate tie.

kimmo416: Assuming they are wearing wing collars and morning coats (since they are wearing cravats) a bow tie would not be a particularly good choice.  They could, however, put just the groom in wing collar and cravat, with the groomsmen in turndown collars, and wedding ties.  By wedding ties, I mean something along these lines:

linnylou_88:  Of the options you have given, matching ivory ties is the better one.  Don’t forget, he will be the one standing to the middle, next to the bride.  This should help any guests that are in doubt as to which gentleman is the bridegroom.  If they are still uncertain, they will likely figure it out when he kisses you.

I think that’s a smashing look, though I would not wear a cravat with a lounge suit.  I would wear a regular neck tie.  Ivory is not my favourite; my honest opinion is to do something with a bit more contrast, and a subtle, formal pattern, for the tie.  But, if you both like the ivory tie, then this is a smart look.

A cravat, with lounge suit, is mixing two levels of formality – ones that are quite far apart.  A cravat goes with the most formal iteration of morning dress.  So, whatever colour you like, I would definitely do four in hand ties if you’re going to do lounge suits.  Mid grey is a GREAT suit colour.  That’s what my groomsmen wore.

linnylou_88:  Stick with a tie – though consider buying a suit, in that colour, if you can afford it.  It’s one that he’d get a lot of wear out of.

My DH and his groomsmen wore identical outfits (morning suit with regular pale blue tie and buttonhole to match my bouquet) It was his choice for them all to look the same and trust me, no one is going to be questioning which one is the groom. He’ll be the one with the biggest smile on his face (hopefully!)
