My FI and I are big geeks, so this was a natural choice…

I didn’t make mine from scratch, but I did paint it and make the kilt for it 🙂

@HappilyEverAfter54: I think that’s really sweet! What were you thinking of adding to it? I think the inspiration one looks perfect the way it is. Adding anything more than some wildflowers at the bottom might make it look too busy.

Posted my inspiration awhile ago, but I love them so I’ll post again. Hoping my Grandma can help me with my crocheting so that I can make these:

I made this one out of sugar and corn syrup and candy. Actually the “practice” one came out better but I ran out of time to fix it:

i  have made a rose and ivy vine to go from top to bottom tier….there is a bunch of roses for the top, but i might change that…and below is my inspiration pic for my cake.

Mine is not quite done yet. I am going to put in on a small tree stump piece instead of what it is on now but I am really proud of it. It took along time. I like your tree stump idea. My cake stand is going to be a large tree stump.
