@FutureDrZ:  we went there 2 years ago and stayed at the Hilton irufushi which was amazing, we are going again for our honeymoon but this time staying at the Conrad hilton.. I think anywhere you go you will have a great time! I would reconsider getting an all inclusive, and maybe getting half board with the food. It depends on the hotel – do a lot of research on that! Sometimes if you get all inclusive you can only eat at one restaurant those 3 meals a day, but then you see the resort has 8 more restaurants where of course you have to pay! It’s expensive, but they do have to import almost everything..

Do both of you scuba dive?  If so, I would definitely look into doing a liveaboard dive trip – SO much cheaper than staying at a hotel and there are some very fancy boats for about $250/day, including meals and 3 dives per day.

That’s how I visited Maldives, though I was not on my honeymoon but some on board.
