My fiance and I got engaged in April and have been checking out the venues in Fairfield county, CT and Westchester. We decided we’d like to be on the water, don’t want anything cheesy, and don’t want a cramped feeling for around 120 people. We have both fallen in love with 2 different venues. I can’t seem to stop debating the pro’s and con’s of these 2 venues in my head, so thought I’d ask for some feedback. My fiance absolutely loves Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club because of the unobstructed views. I am leaning more toward Coveleigh in Rye because of the charm of the old mansion. My fiance is really bothered that you can see the pool and tennis court when you look out the windows. I haven’t tried the food at either place, has anyone been to these venues and can offer some advice?

I was in the wedding party of a wedding at Mam’k Beach and Yacht and loved it. Great outdoor space (and enough indoor for cocktail in case the weather isn’t great), great staff, remember the food being great but I honestly wasn’t at my seat most of the night so I didn’t eat everything! Really really great space all around. I didn’t tour there as a bride-to-be myself since I didn’t want to copy the location when there are so many great water locations in the area.
I visited Coveleigh as a bride-to-be and got off on the wrong foot with the person showing us around so that ruined it right from the start for me, but it is a beatiful space. From the pictures I saw online I was prepared to love it and thought it would be my number 1 choice. I was a little wary of how many things could be added on that seemed like they had to be added on so there would be enough variety during cocktail hour which would really bump up the price. I also was worried like your Fiance about having the pool and all the other space outside where members could be during your reception.
