Weddingbee boards

Originally I had a friend that I was going to fly out to Vegas to do all our pictures for the wedding, but then I got to talking to my FMIL and since he has NO wedding experience we decided to just hire a local one. I am not wanting to shell out 4k for a photographer and I know nothing about the area. I was hoping to get a little help from you guys about maybe some recommendations about choosing one from the area or if you are a local have any that you suggest. I have been browsing the net but my Google searches are only pulling up a few and I cant imagine them not being everywhere in Vegas. I am wanting a pretty photo-journalistic approach and candid shots. I dont really like all the posed pictures you typically see. My goal is to find someone who can truly capture the feeling and emotions of the day.  

Not particularly. We are getting married at The Springs Preserve and then a reception to follow at the Hilton. I think I want a pretty eclectic mix of both.

These would be the wedding pictures. The FMIL didnt really like the idea of my friend from Edmond doing the pics bc he has no wedding experience and a few classes at UCO wasnt enough for here lol and I kind of came around and starting agreeing with her. Thats a big responsibility and I dont feel comfortable placing that on a non-pros shoulders. 

Can you ask your venue for recommendations? Our shortlist of photographers all came from the vendor list our venue gave us. Some of those photographers were quite expensive, but they were able to recommend cheaper photographers they had worked with.
