I am a Jimmy bride, YAY, haahaaahaaa - - I have two pairs of Manolos. With each pair of designer shoes I own I keep them in their felt bag with tissue in their toe and the plastic stick in them - you know that goes from the back of the shoe into the tissue stuffed toe!?!?
The other thing is that on the bottoms of the shoes I have the cobbler put a protector so I don't scuff up the balls of the foot part. It also helps so I don't slide all over.
Congrats on your purchase - they're spectacular
Thanks Jackie-O! I was reading about having a cobbler put something on the sole to protect them, and I can see why. I just got them yesterday and I couldn't believe how delicate they are. The bottom is such soft leather, but it's also beautiful. I'de feel so bad altering the shoe. Do they look different or bad once thats done?
Now that I've had a taste of this luxury I can't help but want more!! Hahahahaha! I'm already picking up extra shifts at work to buy a pair of Christian Louboutin's!!
No Worries - - they don't come cheap so anything to make them last longer, LOL....And no they don't look different at all. Naturally we don't ever sit with the bottoms of our shoes facing anyone so really no one will ever know you have a protector on the bottom. Its wear and tear will cost you more in the end if you don't have any protector on the bottom, you know what I mean?
I didn't know anything about their care until my bff (my NYC bm) told me. She is the one who has shown me all the ropes to luxury shoes, LOL
Thank you!! I'm going to definitly do it! And they will be well stored when not in use!
Those blue shoes are my wedding shoes too :) Love them!
I got mine about 3 weeks ago, took boudoir pictures in them and now like you i am thinking of the way to protect them!
I just got my Manolos this weekend!! These are not the greatest pics of them but I"m in loooove!!

@hilsy85 those are really pretty and they are also that blue color! LOVE them!
Only in my dreams lol, My fiance would kill me If I dared on our new wedding budget, but enjoy.. live the dream for me lol. I love the shoes though.
@hilsy85: IN LOVE WITH THOSE SHOES!!! Did they come in different colors (I would want a violet/purple pair!) ? Also how tall is the heel on those Manolos? I can only wear a 2inch heal max because I am tall and JUST make the cut off in 2inch heels to not have to pay extra to have the added material on my wedding dressing...
everyone else.. i love Manolos (choos, louboutin.. etc.). and need some suggestions for my shoes!! I would love to have a colored show, my wedding colors are purples (lavender and dark grape), so either or a violet! However, I also love the shoes COVERED in bling (in an elegent way) not white/clear ,but a light color like a pale pale silver or perhaps the crystals could match some of the the embellishments crystals on my dress, which are pewter. NOT CLOSE TOE, or a solid back..sling backs are good, or straps..lol
Any suggestions? Oh and max I can have is a 2in heel, because of my height anything more than 2inches would require them to add more material, extra $$. PLEASE help. thanks!
Wow, love the shoes, ladies! I wore Manolos for our wedding too :-) I went with the silver sedarby (a shoe that I always wanted). I debated buying them for weeks when I decided with all of the money I was paying for everything else... these would be one thing that I could wear during the wedding and still get use out of it after the big day. I stayed under budget with everything except these. No regrets:

Great tips, jackie-o!
One more thing splat11x, you should go to berdorfgoodman's website and look at their bridal collection. They have a diverse collection in a lot of beautiful shades with heels of all different sizes. It's hard not to find things to love! Let us know what shoes you pick!!!
All you ladies have such beautiful shoes!! I love it!!
@splatt11x: Pilotsgirl beat me to it! They do come in purple, and they also come in a kitten heel height, which sounds like it would work perfectly for you!
For an elegant but sparkly shoe, I immediately thought of a Jimmy Choo shoe:
The only thing is, the heel is like 4 inches, so way higher than what you wanted :(
Well, last night i tried on my shoes with my dress..wow! Everyone at the store wanted to touch my shoes the moment i told them they were "Carrie Shoes" :)
mashka_f1 aren't they AMAZING!! I love the toe cleavege that they give, don't you? I don't care what my dress looks like because with these shoes it's perfect! Would you be willing to show a full head to toe with the shoes so I can can see how it all looks together???
Divine...
I'm a Manolo girl, but a Louboutin bride. The first thing I thought of when I saw the title of your post was Carrie's blue Manolo's in SATC =) I loved them but not for my wedding since I don't ever wear closed toed heels unless it's in the office. I love the blue and purple open toed Manolo's other girls have posted on this thread, too.
@Pilotsgirl09 you cant really see the shoes when i have the dress, i guess there is going to be a lot of showing off the shoes on the wedding day.
Here is a pic
mashka_f1 WOW! You and your dress are beautiful! And I can see how it will come together with the manolo's just perfectly!!

I've always admired amazing shoes...and they come in all kinds of price ranges. But the ones that have eluded my grasp for so many years have been Manolo Blahniks...until now!!!
I thought what better time to treat myself to the ultimate in fashion and luxury then my wedding day. I haven't even tried on wedding gowns yet, for me it's about the shoes first. Whatever gown I end up wearing will have to go with the shoes! And anything as beautiful as these shoes will go with almost anything, so it won't be hard! Some may think that sounds backwards, but when you're a woman who has struggled with her weight for years and years and the one thing that you've been able to count on is how amazing shoes make you feel and look...well, it all makes sense then. Ever since I saw the Something Blue Satin Pump by Manolo on Carrie Bradshaw in the Sex and the City movie I loved them, but I never thought I would actually own a pair. Seeing them in movies or pictures over the internet has not done these shoes justice. They are more beautiful to behold then I could have ever imagined.
The theme of our wedding is 1940's glamour. The brooch of the shoe adds that vintage flare but the sleek style of the shoe keeps it modern. Our colors of the wedding are revolved around my grooms military uniform and peacock feathers (which happen to match the uniform perfectly).I can't wait to talk down the aisle to my husband in these stunning works of art!! Anyone else out there a Manolo bride? Or a Jimmy or a Christian bride? Whatever shoes you have I'm sure they will carry your very well towards your future.
Now all I have to do is find out how to take care of them so they last for years and years. Anyone out there know the hints on keeping satin designer shoes looking their best?
