Alright Hive, I really need your help with this one.
1) I live in Hawaii2) Shipping here is an arm and a leg
So, what’s all the hub-bub about you may ask?? Well.. I need 18-22 rather large manzanita branches/trees and can’t find any for a reasonable price!
I’ve looked at Blooms & Branches, and was SO excited to fin 18 18″-24″ branches for only $129 including shipping! …And then I read the fine print “not to Hawaii and Alaska”. Noooo! So I emailed and found out that the branches would be $139 + $150 shipping = ( An arm and a leg I tell you.
That said. Does anyone know of a place I can get manzanita branches in Hawaii, and if not, at a cheap shipping price??
*I tried uploading a picture of what I was going for, but I can’t get the darn thing to work! Boo hoo.

What if you found someone to buy them here for you and then ship them. Would that be cheaper than a company shipping them??

Oh! I never thought about that. It might be cheaper, but I really wouldn’t want to trouble someone with packing them for me.
It’s definitely a great idea though, and if worse comes to worse, I may resort to that.

Another suggestion is to find another bride in Hawaii also looking for manzanita branches so you can split the cost with them…share. :o) Maybe check out http://www.brideshare.net/

There is no Hawaii group on Brideshare. To be honest, most Hawaii brides are pretty lax when it comes to planning. Hawaii is pretty far behind in wedding trends

I loved the look of manzanita branches, but they are cost prohibitive for me, so we are just spray painting branches from my uncle’s farm. Any branches laying about that would work in Hawaii?

I found manzanita branches on this site, and I’m pretty sure they ship anywhere, even international:
I can’t attest to the quality of the site, because I haven’t used it yet, but I do know that that’s the cheapest I’ve been able to find for manzanitas! Hope that helped!!

I was wondering if you were able to get branches? I’m thinking of getting some too and went to the same sites. I’m in California but getting married in Hawaii in January. Let me know the status of your manzanita branch-hunt. Maybe we can do our own BrideShare!
I’m planning to do a DIY centerpiece of something like this: http://www.weddingbee.com/2008/01/02/branch-centerpieces/
