I'm considering making Manzanita centerpieces and spraying them my colors (pink and green) and possibly some silver ones...I want to add light to them and some crystals.....Anyone have pictures or ideas that relate to this??

And do you think this will become more expensive then having high flower centerpieces?? Thanks.

I'm doing Manzanita trees too! Mine will cost about $60 each. What my decorator and I are doing is buying the branches in the LA floral district for $12 (great deal), these already come cemented but you can DIY yourelf to save $$ and we are doing the decorating. In addition, to save money I'm only doing half my tables with the branches and half candle centerpieces. I'm attaching a few pix of some I found.

Where is the best place to buy them? And if I find them cheap can I buy them 1 yr before the wedding?? Or should I get them fresher??

sav on crafts has them for a fairly decent price i think. as far as cheaper than flowers, i honstly think it depends on if you are diy'g them or having someone else do them...

Since the trees aren't actually alive, I would think you could order them at any time, as long as you have a place to store them... correct me if I'm wrong bees :)

I think you are right. You can buy the tree anytime and they will not spoil.

    Hey bees,

I've actually heard of people going out to their backyard/the woods and just picking out branches for free! They just dried them out and it worked out just fine.

Just an option for those dollar savvy bees!

    Thanks Bee's!!!

@ja7975 thanks for that idea....I have some time and I think I might try it!! Just going to pick out some really pretty branches and let them dry out...then spraying them with metallic silvers, pinks and greens....we will see what happens!! Hopefully it turns out great because we have 3 acres of woods!!!

I have 12 Manzanita Branch centerpieces with crystals and candles that I would like to rent out in the NYC and Long Island areas. I made these for a friends party and I am holding them for my 2012 wedding. I will slightly alter to match your decor. Rent 12 for a wedding or engagement, or rent 1 as a wishing tree (wishing cards and ribbon included.)  Let me know if your interested.  I also have metal standing numbers 1-12.  They make gorgous table numbers.  I will deliver and pickup at your venue.  Renting will save you money and time.

@Zoey218:  Do you still have these to rent and can you email pics?
