Our date is March 19th, 2011. Anybody else got a March 2011 wedding planned? I am so detail focused so I have started early! So far we have our location and caterer (they came hand in hand). I am looking for my dress at the moment and deciding on some DIYs to save some money. It looks like photography is going to be one of my most important (read: expensive) vendor choices. It is the most important thing for me on our day since I do some photography myself.
How far along are you bees?
12th 2011 is my fiance and my wedding date. I think it is so important to start early, although i have found most places dont like you to go in too early to start booking things...ie flowers and cake. We also have a vedor and caterer which went hand in hand as well. It is so much easier that way.
I am working on some pomander balls...ribbon ones and flower ones.
Good luck on your big day.
I was a March 12th, 2011 bride, but we had to move the wedding up one week because the venue we wanted was already booked! So I am now a March 5th, 2011 Bride!
So far we have our ceremony site and officiant. Just need to get back to reception site to sign the proposal for our reception which includes the catering. We've bought our invitations- our first diy.
I am still looking at a dress for myself, but I'm almost 100% on my girls dresses. My girls all received my cards asking them to be a BM too!
Our photographer is done too.
I'm getting married on March 12th, 2011 as well. I'm trying to take care of the vendors first. So far, we've booked the catering hall, church and band. I'd like to take care of the photographer/videographer and florist next.
I've also spent waay too much time online browsing for ideas, but haven't started any projects yet.
Well march is almost a year away and I am so excited to be able to say that.
I've been told by some people that it is too early to start doing wedding things but hey, the sooner the better I think...less to worry about. :)
@Alyssamarie- I thought the same thing, but we actually had to change our wedding date because the original date we wanted (March 12, 2011) was already taken at the reception venue so we are are getting married on March 5, 2011.
My date is also March 5, 2011. In Ohio...I have quite a few people wondering, "Why March?!", especially due to the unpredictable weather....no way of knowing if we'll get a spring day or a winter day!
What are other March brides doing for colors/themes? I'd love ideas. I really like the idea of a very light blue (can work for spring or winter)....and I also love royal blue.
I need help to start planning this wedding!!! All I have is the chruch and hall. I've done wedding dress shopping, but I haven't purchased one!
Congratulations to all the March 2011 brides :-)
We are getting married on 03/31/11.
I have my dress and we have all of our vendors picked and confirmed, so now I am just concentrating on all of the DIY stuff and paying everyone. We are having an elegant romantic Victorian theme. Our main colors are white, black, gold, celedon, and pink.
We've been engaged for a year, and just picked out date. We live in New Mexico, are getting married in Oklahoma, and have nieces in Texas. We chose March 19 because that is the last Friday of their spring break, and so traveling won't be a big problem for them (a summer wedding was out of the question for me...I hate the heat, and Oklahoma summers are BRUTAL!).
I haven't really done much yet (other than spending hours on weddingbee). I'll be visiting OK next week, and will be looking at venues then. I have picked out the BM dresses (actually, I sent my sisters to the jcrew website and asked them to pick their favorite, and they actually independently picked the same one, so that was easy!).
It's the first marriage for both of us, but we are older (I'm 39), and have been dating for 10 years and living together for 7 of those years, so we are planning a small, pretty informal wedding with only immediate family (about 30 people), so I'm hoping that a small wedding will equal low stress planning, but we'll see!
We'll have a party with our Albuquerque friends sometime next summer, but I can only plan one thing at a time.
I chose the jcrew clover green for the BM dresses. I'm thinking about doing silver and eggplant for my other colors, but I'm worried that eggplant will be too dark for the spring (any thoughts on that?).
Looking forward to watching everyone's plans unfold.
Hi all! March 19th bride here! Congratulations to everyone, and let the countdown begin! (in a fun, exciting way- not in a "holy crap I have less than a year to do all of this" way!)
I'm so excited to have found the Wedding Bee and all of you who I will most definitely be bouncing ideas off of in the next year!
I'm a March 19th bride also... It's my fi and i's anniversary, so it makes sense for us! :) i am deciding on diys and have my photography, baker, venue and caterer and officiant.
Hows everyone's planning going?
3/12/11... picked a venue/caterer (haven't signed the contract yet tho); hired the band; bought my dress; booked the synagogue/officiant; set up hotel room blocks; meeting with a photographer this week; planned our honeymoon (still need to book); registered; picked out (but didn't buy) wedding bands; ordered informal thank you notes; starting design of std's and invites in the nest 2 weeks. WHEW! now i just need to get back into shape!
We are getting married March 17th (most likely, could move up or down a day or two) 2011.
Our wedding will be a pretty simple and small affair so normally I wouldn't be doing so much at this stage BUT we are marrying in another state, doing all of this work from Texas, so in this case, I feel that it's never too soon to start figuring things out.
What sucks is we don't have any money yet for deposits and such, and because we are marrying in a very very small town I really do NEED to make some reservations ASAP.
Oh well. Doing what I can!
March 5, 2011 .bride here! Getting more excited each day. We are planning on black and white with green and possibly peacock accents. I think the green is good for the beginning of spring (I like to think of it that way instead of end of winter).
We have just booked our venue that comes with caterer, ceremony, officiant, DJ and photographer. Moving right along! And loving every minute of it (almost).
Yay! A date twin!
Are you a nurse too? I'm graduating in less than a month from nursing school!
@g8rgirl1020: I am a nurse! Have been for 7 years now. Best decision I ever made, going to nursing school. Nice to have a nurse date twin!
@Purple Nurse: & @g8rgirl1020: I'm a March 5, 2011 bride too (but not a nurse). I've been stalking the March 2011 boards for a while and everyone seemed to be using other dates in March -- I'm excited for March 5! So far we've got our ceremony and reception sites nailed down, I've ordered my dress, we've booked a photographer and hair and makeup person, and just hired a planner on Friday. I'm so excited! Our colors are purple, green, and silver.
Happy planning! :)
@dkd45805: We're getting married on March 5th in Ohio too! We've just decided that we'll have to make it work regardless of the weather. We're doing navy blue bm dresses with different shades of green and white flowers.
Our date is March 5th, too! And, in the Midwest!!! haha We've had some comments on the weather, too. However, I just say pray for the good weather and enjoy the day! We're getting married and that's all that matters. :) :)
Happy planning!
Oh, and we're doing navy and sky blues!
Our wedding was originally planned for June, but today we decided on March. I hope, I hope that moving the date up 3 months won't make us entirely crazy. We are still deciding between two locations Vineyard or the Cape. I didn't want a long engagement anyway, so this should work out. Is anyone else getting married (or did get married) in the Northeast in March? How did the weather turn out for you? What type of dress did you decide to wear?
Looks like some of us march 5th brides have a liking to Navy! :)
My colors are navy, kelly green and coral/orange!
@g8rgirl1020:Oh my bridesmaids dresses are navy!! and the flowers will have coral in them, we are so excited! Any Northern California Girls out there getting married in March next year?
So what's your progress girls? Vendors, caterer, photographer, dj, ceremony music, videographer, my dress, and cappuccino rental (he loves coffee) are all picked out and deposits are down!!
Meeting with a florist tomorrow, a baker on the 21st.
Still need to figure out the honeymoon, transportation, diy favors (partially purchased), all stationary, linens, rent a photo booth, bridesmaids dresses, officiant, and accessories. All fun stuff!!
@sweetpea1031: We've nailed down the ceremony site, reception site, photographer, hair/makeup person, officiant, and wedding planner. Oh, and I ordered my dress! Planning from the east coast for an AZ wedding, so we can't really do anything more until we go out there in October and have a zillion appointments planned in one weekend! :) I'm trying to stay calm.
I'm a March 25, 2011 bride and I'm really far along on my planning!! The only thing we are still looking for is a photographer [long story] but we have some great possibilities! I have my venue, officiants, hair stylists + make up, dress, caterer and day of coordinator already booked and paid for. The only thing I really have left, that is substantial, is the save the dates and invitations.
We are doing a Southern/vintage theme and I'm really excited with all of the inspiration I'm finding! But I'm starting to get a little nervous/overwhelmed when I see that I have less than 8 months and I feel like I have so much do to!
@lindseymagen: Girl I feel ya on the out of state planning! We are in DC and getting married in Charleston! So we have most our big things booked but have all of our appointments, run throughs and meet and greets in September! It's going to be A CRAZY busy weekend but will so be worth it in the end.
@acharlestonbride: Ooh, I'm jealous you get to go down there in September! What were we THINKING waiting until October?! :)
@lindseymagen: Is that the closest time you could go? For us, it's always a trip when we go down. 8 -12 hour drive, 2 dogs, blah! It adds up! But as long as you get all you need to done while you are there, it doesn't matter as much that you are going later. Ya know?

march 2011 bride here! All my vendors are all set just paying off little things and still cant figure out what to do for invitations?! Other then that , our wedding day cant come soon enough!!
I just finished booking all my vendors last week (phew!). Also booked our Honeymoon in mexico last week. Our paper invitation samples arrived today and we have already ordered the DIY kits, and all the other paper goods! Just trying to work out affordable centerpeices, looking for some vase gems. I have a want add up in the classifieds if you or someone you know has some!
Our date is March 19th 2011 in Tn. I picked it for the simple fact that I wanted spring (so I could have tulips) and it was when my nephews from out of state have spring break. Thankfully my perfect venue had the date!
Only been engaged for 2 weeks (though we have been dating for 11 years ) and have ceremony/reception venue and caterer (all in one place), the dress and we JUST settled on colors. But that's about it. I'm TOTALLY stressing even though we have 6 months.
Our colors are purple and light green (varying shades of both). I can't wait! Now that we have colors set I can start working on our DIY invites and getting a design settled with that.
What colors are everyone else using?
I'd like to know how the other March 5 brides are doing on planning. I have all the major things booked. I have the singers booked, but need to book an organist.
I just ordered invitations and met with the florist. Some of my bridesmaids are cutting it close with getting their dresses (but I guess thats their problems).
My bridesmaid dress is Jim Hjelm 5722.
How is everyone else doing???? I hope I'm on track!
got engaged Aug 13 and our wedding is March 20, 2011. So far I have...
ceremony/reception site - menu planning 13 January
officiant
invitations - printed, in a box sitting in our condo
dress on order
DJ
Florist
Photographer
wording for program
Day-of-coordinator
Cake ordered
Registered
Have to do:
order cake topper, digital copy of program/menu to print and put together, escort cards/table numbers, rent chivari chairs, dress fittings, get better about working out. I think that's about it.
@dkd45805: Let's see... We're doing a church wedding and backyard tented reception. Church booked in July, dress in but not picked up/altered yet, bridesmaid dresses are ordered, rentals (tent, china, etc.) signing contract later this week, signed catering contract today, florist contract being finalized this week, invitation order going in this week, photographer booked, save the dates went out early September, cake ordered, registries done. I always feel like I have so much left to do but writing it all out makes me feel like I have a lot done! L:)
I know how you feel.. I just got married last year and we planned it all in just 5 months! What kept me half sane was: printing a few checklists(from theKnot.com) and creating a master To-Do list with names of who would be responsible for getting it done and when they were supposed to have it finished (i.e. fittings for dresses, etc.)
Hope this helps...
~Kendra
I'm a March 19, 2011 bride as well! So far, we have the ceremony location, reception location, guest list, registry, officiant, photographer, cake, food, my dress, and his outfit picked out. We're working on the invitations now. And that's about it! : ) I think/hope I'm on track!
99 days March 19th-ers!! We're officially in the double digits! How are you all doing out there?!
Hi Everyone - I'm a March 19th bride as well. We got engaged Oct 23rd and didn't want to wait very long. We knew where we wanted to get married, so the date was decided for us - it was the only Saturday left in 2011!!
Most of the details are confirmed - although when are you sending out your official invites (and then asking for RSVP's)?
