I hate doing this but I know it keeps me on track.
1. Finish getting gifts for parents/bridal party
2. Buy ties and socks for the guys
3. Paint part of our cake topper
4. Finish our wooden B by aging it
5. Buy two more vases for the centerpieces
6. Buy fabric markers (if anyone has recommendations, I've been looking for soft blues, pinks, greens, purples, etc)
7. Get speakers for our Ipod and make the ceremony playlist
8. Reserve the nail appointment
9. Have my hair/makeup trial (this is scheduled for Saturday)
10. Get our marriage license (hopefully Friday)
11. Decide on what to do as far as cake stands go (rent or make)
12. Order and put together favors
13. Pick up my wedding band and order his
14. Decide on wines/champagne/appetizers for reception
15. Get people to send back their RSVPS! (Kidding, sort of. But seriously, we still have only gotten two back and people close to us are like "Oh, I just haven't done it yet/I forgot")
16. Reorder my shoes since I need a half size smaller and had to return them
1. Mentally will people to RSVP
2. Make hair/nail/massage/waxing appts
3. Write personal notes to my BMs
4. Send final numbers to all vendors
5. RELAX :)
Apparently I have managed to do or delegate everything away.
January Completed:
February To Do:
Looking good ladies! This morning I set up our ceremony minus our vows. I also wrote out three thank you notes for wedding gifts. Have you guys started to get wedding gifts in the mail?
@noritake22: Looks like you have got a ton done!
@soontobemrsinaz: I wish my list was as short as yours!
@mandb122: Happy that you are sharing your list. It also helps me keep on track.
I haven't been doing hardly anything wedding related. I did buy gift bags for out OOT bags yesterday and a few other Milk Glass items. I think I am hitting the 50 days wall of I don't want to do anything...but yet I have so much to do.
I am exactly one month out as of today (YAY!) and I still need to....
Finalize ceremony music selections with musicians
Go over ceremony with officiant... it's written, just needs to be "checked"
Finish buying girls gifts/writing notes/wrapping
Finish printing off pictures of us for at the reception
Fold our ceremony quizzes
Buy sparklers for our send off
Figure out what the heck I'm putting on top of our cake
After that it's just the week of stuff like the final seating chart and sending money to vendors.
FINALLY... I am really over planning and am just excited for the day to BE here already!
So far this month I bought the gifts for the girls (necklaces), ordered the fabric markers, had my hair and makeup trial, bought his wedding band (mine should be ready to be picked up this week), decided to just rent the cake stands, and reordered and received my shoes in a better size (yay Zappos for free one day shipping
). I'm hoping this weekend to age the wooden B, get the paint for the cake topper, find the vases (hopefully one more trip to Goodwill will do the trick), and possibly make the nail appointment as well as get our marriage license.
@mandb122: Where did you find your B, how big is it and how do you go about giving it an aged look? I saw your hair trial pics and you looked amazing! Looks like you are getting lots of stuff done this month. I haven't really done hardly anything. We also ordered FH's ring and saw it yesterday but had to send it off to get hammered and should get that back at the end of the month. Yesterday I made a shopping list on my phone of everything that I still need to buy for the wedding. It seems like when we are at the store I never remember stuff. Oh and I did our rehearsal invites. It is up to his parents to get those all out though. I am currently also chasing down our RSVP's. The due date has pasted and we are at 36% of people have replied and that is AFTER sending out messages.
@Nola: We bought our B at Michael's. It's pretty small but we figured we don't have to order it and wait for it to come, it was already painted white, and it was within budget (it was only like $5 or less - I can't remember the exact price). I found aging stuff online that I'm going to try to find again at Michael's. It's a glaze that you put on and let it sit for a day and it cracks the paint. They also have it with paint so it's just two coats of the paint and it cracks itself. And the RSVPs are starting to get on my nerves. Our due date isn't until Friday but we only have 32% back which is low considering we only sent out 25 invitations. And thank you, I thought she did a really good job on my hair.
It took me a minute to find it but the wooden B that we bought is about seven or eight inches tall if that helps. And here's an example of stuff you can use to age it.
okay, I have to start doing this.
february to do:
finalize all men's tuxedos
final two fittings for dress (one tomorrow, one a week before)
final meetings with: caterer, cake, photographer, venues, flowers, DJ
pick out some table linens
finalize room set up and seating table
find manzanita tree for wishing tree, cut out leaves for seating/writing
write vows
write and print programs (put together programs... blah, so sick of DIY)
finalize beer and wine menu
shop for honeymoon :D
marriage license
hair and make up trial
order cake topper
track down late RSVPs
figure out unity candle and communion table
make do not play and must play lists
figure out ceremony music (I am so excited to have my super talented friend play piano for us, he's amazing, we just have to pick the songs... and he's in LA right now.)
get away outfit?
make hotel reservations for night-of
reserve block of rooms at hotels
figure out how to make my bridesmaid gifts prettier... they're getting a monogrammed LL Bean tote with a survival kit in it, but right now the survival kit is just in a plastic bag because it's so expensive. maybe make a drawstring bag with some fabric from joann's? I'm just creating work for myself at this point... sigh.
make nail appointment
make waxing appointment? yikes
get grooms gifts
guest book
parents gifts
I think that's it... I so can't wait for this vacation!

i'm finished!! except i have to go to my hair & makeup trail but thats it
Just about done! All appointments made, just booking Limo for day of and looking into groomsmen gifts.
OH! And I have to print a few things. But man. It feels good to say DONE!
@lola2011 and ManciasToBe: Congrats girls! I wish I was in your position. Less then a month for you gusy!
I personally keep thinking that I am not getting anything done. However, I have noticed my list gets smaller and smaller....then bigger and bigger because I forget about things. I am thinking tomorrow we will go order my ring or sometime very shortly. I contacted the baker today because I need the cake size down for 150 to 75 and I am only going to do one pie due to the smaller size. Last night I FINALLY asked my brother to do the reading in our wedding and today we started working on our vows.
I just wanted to say good luck to all of the girls getting married next week! I hope you got everything done and are feeling GREAT!

March brides I know you all have been waiting for this post. Girls at the start of the month have a short month left and the later girls have a little longer but this is the time that counts.
As always this will be our place to come to check off things on our list and motivate eachother on the progress in Feb.
So let's see this past week we bought FH's ring and picked our mine. Yesterday I also picked out our ceremony songs and a few of the specialty songs for the reception. OH and the big deal is we have started to pay off a few things.
TO DO LIST:
1. Write programs
2. Write Vows
3. Get FH's ok on the ceremony that I already wrote and give to officiant
4. Buy my ring
5. Contact baker on changing grooms cake to cherry pie
6. Decide on if we are doing seating assignments
7. Buy OOT bags
8. Buy silver tray for hankies
9. Make Favor tags
10. Finish making guest book
11. Order the photo cards for our guest
12. track down people that haven't RSVPed
13. Any other DIY projects (unity candle stand, moss letters, wreaths)
14. Rehearsal invites
15. Buy my sons suite
I think that is most of the important stuff but I am sure that I am missing some key elements.
