Have you secured a photographer?  Have you decided on a hairdresser/makeup artist, or favors like photo booth/candy buffet? I feel like these things are so far ahead, but I'm scared that Im going to keep thinking that and next thing I know - I wont have a photographer and I'll be doing my own hair and makeup

     Undecided

Where are you all on this??

@MrsGibby2Bee:  We have our photographers.  I booked them in March when I met with them.

We're having a DW if you want to call it that.  It's about 10 hours from where we live, and I think my hairdresser will be going, so she'll likely do my hair.

Not sure about the makeup though.  I'd like to do my own, but I have NO idea what I'm doing.  I wear makeup every day, but I wouldn't say it's wedding-y enough.

We're planning to have a photobooth, and I'm not sure about favors yet, but I'm thinking about Smores on a stick.  Someone on the bee posted them, and they're super cute.  Plus it'll be chilly outside, so it may work.  I was thinking hot chocolate/cocoa, but I don't think we can afford mugs, so it'd be kind of pointless to provide mix and nothing to drink it out of.

@MrsGibby2Bee: I have my photographer, and just now researching hair/make up artists. We decided to do a candy buffet for favors and my mom already got all the glass jars for it. I already found an online candy wholesaler from where I will buy my colored candy! Yay!

I have set up a trial for make up, I still need someone to do my hair.

I met with a photographer and have to book him at the end of the month.

I am already working on our favors.

It seems like time is flying now, before I felt it dragged :/

I can say yes to all of these things.  We have our photographer, I booked the salon last week and we're having both a photo booth and candy buffet.

We have everything booked now, photographer, DJ, hair/makeup, we know who our florist will be (haven't picked flowers) and who our cake person will be (haven't picked the cake though).  We tried to get as much done this summer as possible since we both work in schools and were off for the last two months.

I have the photographer, DJ, florist, cake, venue, church, my dress, bridesmaid dresses.  I know what I want for the favor, but I haven't ordered it/DIYed it yet.  We will be having a photobooth too.  Tuxedos and invitations are next.  I'm not worrying about hair/makeup yet, but I am planning on hiring a pro for both.  Our engagement photo session is set for Sept. 17th and our STD's will go out the last week of September.  It's been A LOT, but I'm a teacher so I wanted to get most of it done this summer before going back to work.

@amw511s:  That's exactly how we are.  He's a teacher, I'm a school psychologist and we've been off since the end of May.  Save the dates are going out in a couple weeks, after that is the meeting with the florist and food tasting.  We bought the parts to our favors, but haven't put them together yet.  We have invitations picked out and are ordering them when we order the save the dates.

We've got the photographer locked in. We found her on Craigslist. Her work is wonderful and creative and has just the tone we like. Plus, she's giving us ten hours of coverage and full printing rights to the estimated 800 photos for $1000. Um, yes please! She's been a second shooter at a lot of weddings, but hasn't gotten to run the show yet on too many. Photography is just a weekend gig for now, but she's hoping to go full-time by March.

We've chosen favors on Etsy, but haven't ordered them yet. Because we don't want anything monogrammed or generally useless, and because our wedding has a kind of woodsy and outdoorsy theme, we're giving out little birdseed cakes in the shape of a heart. We figure that both city and country dwellers might enjoy hanging them outside and watching the neighborhood birds snack on them. Watching the birds fly around my apartment balcony's birdfeeders is already one of our favorite things (because we are very, very old) so that's a nice tie-in too.

Hair and make-up aren't secured yet. I'm not even sure whether I want my hair up or down. However, my cousin is a theatrical costume designer and is also a whiz with hair and make-up, so I'm thinking I should ask her if she'll make me pretty in lieu of a wedding gift.

@peacockchris: ohh can you share the website? I'm not planning on doing any major candy buffet but I would love to add some colored candies to our sweet table!

We finally have most of our stuff picked out and booked, but I have no idea about hair and makeup and don't even know where to begin with that!

I have the photographer booked, but they have been booked for over a year since my sister who is a photographer is friends with them.

I am doing my own makeup and I have 2 bridesmaids who are hair stylists, so thats covered!

We aren't doing favors, we have welcome bags though!

We don't have anything for sure booked or figured out, but we have a general idea... My FI's mom is a hairdresser & wants to do my hair, which I can't exactly tell her no so I'm just planning on having a lot of practice days with her so I can make sure it's how I want it.

For our favors I found this cupcakeish pan on amazon and instead of normal cupcakes they look like roses, so we were thinking that combined with the normal little jordan almond bag of candy, a little business card (that we are getting free, jus pay shipping) with our names on saying thank you for coming to our wedding and we'll be all set for the favors.

I really can't afford to have a makeup artist, but I was thinking of going to the mall & letting them do my makeup a couple weeks before so I can get some ideas on how to dress up my normal everyday look.

I booked hair appointments for everyone just before Thanksgiving.  I'm so glad my hairdresser is awesome, we've been talking hairstyles for a few months.  There's also a makeup bar there as well, I booked appointments just for those who I knew wanted theirs done, including me.  I barely wear makeup and couldn't be trusted to apply it myself for my wedding so as long as I have a trial, this is the best option for me.

ETA:  in terms of favors, I think we're just going to have the photobooth pictures count (yaay for our free photobooth!)
