@ctbridetobe:  I'm team green....but only for another week :) I had a dream last night that revolved around finding out the gender, i think, but I can't remembr it very well right now.

20 weeks today!!!! I can't believe I'm halfway. Can't believe it at all!

@ctbridetobe:  I'm team green -- my anatomy scan is coming up on Monday and I'm SO tempted to find out, but I really want it to be a delivery day surprise, so help me stay strong, haha!

@ctbridetobe:  Yup. I'm Team Green all the way through. DH is determined to make it a surprise in the delivery room. Sigh. Still getting used to the idea. Most days I'm ok with it though.

18.5 and I'm still waiting for my first confirmation of movement. Sigh again.

That's a lot of sighing. Thank goodness it's Friday.

Since my next appt is so close, as per usual I'm starting to freak out about all the things that could potentially be wrong.

I would have rolled my eyes over a question like this before I became pregnant, but I'm honestly a little bit worried now -- has anyone else not gained any weight at this point?

I'm still down 3 effing lbs. from my first prenatal appt. I'm not doing anything differently -- I eat when I'm hungry, stop when I'm full, and snack a little throughout the day. My BMI was 24 when I got pregnant, so on the upper end of normal. It's 23 now, so still fine, nothing scary, but I'm just nervous.

@iRun200 and @DiamondsandLace:  woo hoo! I figured we might need some extra support to get us through! I am happy about our decision, but damn, sometimes I just really want to know. My scan is not until week 21 (2 weeks). Wondering if they tell you to look away during certain parts. My friend is a L&D nurse and she said the deliveries where it is a surprise are "awesome." That made me feel great about our decision.

@DiamondsandLace:  Right with you on the worry.  My original anatomy scan was on the 10th but I had to reschedule to the 23rd because DH was going out of town for business. And he didn't understand why I'm upset!!! It's because I'm CRAZY. But we can be crazy together.

To address your concern - don't worry about it!! My MIL keeps reminding me that she only gained 15 pounds during her pregnancy with DH. (fortunately my mother also reminds me frequently that she gained 50).  Anyway, I've seen your bump pic. Baby is growing away. Don't worry.  You're doing the right things. And if your doc is concerned he'll tell you at the next appt.

@ctbridetobe:  My scan is on the 23rd (which will be right at 20 weeks).  I think when you tell them up front you don't want to know, then they avoid the area and tell you to look away at specific times. Hopefully it's not super obvious - because you never know when a tech will spoil the surprise by accident.  (not that I would care - but DH would be PISSED)

@iRun2004:  Thanks, I know you're right. I feel a lot better now. I don't know if it's birthday cake or the bump, which is definitely bigger, but I was up two pounds this morning, so only -1 now. Still really nervous for the anatomy scan, but also SO SO excited to see this little bebe again!

    How was everyone's weekend?

I have the anatomy scan on Thursday (YAY!)!!! I asked a friend to go with me. I started getting nervous that they would see something—or not see something, and maybe I'd need someone there? Hopefully all will go okay!

I went to Rome this weekend just for a day—12 hours, to be exact—and it was actually a pretty difficult trip. By the end of the day my hips were hurting me so bad that I was holding back tears. I've never had an issue with an all-day trip before and even though I took it wasy and sat a lot, I could definitely tell how much my body has changed. It was hard for me to come to terms with it. Luckily, my hips are feeling fine today.

@jesstagirl:  I am worried about that because we are travelling to NY to visit friends next weekend.  The total travel time is 6 hours (by air) I am worried I will be miserable. Oh well I guess I will just have to deal.

I have been having watery discharge this past week that is freaking me out.  I am going to call the doctor today just in case but anyone having this?  I feel like my underwear are wet all the time.  Gross.

@travellingfool:  Just remember, compression socks/sleeves are your BEST FRIEND. Seriously. I have these from running and they are awesome. You can get them from med supply store or you can just get running ones from a running specialty store. I wear them on ANY plane ride over 3 hours (regardless of pregnancy).  But in pregnancy they will help even more!

Also, I've had watery discharge for a few months now.  Does it smell funny? TMI but I realized mine is partly discharge and partly bladder issues (DO THOSE KEGELS!!!). I have to wear liners a lot of days.  Grab those super thin liners from the drug store - it helps a lot.

@travellingfool:  Also make sure to get up and walk around as often as you can. I was on a bus for 8 hours (each way), so walking and standing wasn't even possible.

@iRun2004:  Is there a particular brand of compression socks you recommend? I've never heard of them or even worn them before, but I should probably look into them!

I just booked my ticket home for Christmas! I'm not looking forward to going on a 20-hour plane ride(s) when I'm 28-weeks pregnant (and then again coming back when i'm 31-weeks), but I'm beyond excited to see my family AND theyre throwing me a shower when I'm home, too!

I'm with you girls on the worry. On the 31st we have a 3D ultrasound to check for birth defect because we decided along with my doctors that going off my medication would be worse than staying on it (I have epilepsy). I have a 3% increased chance of birth defects, commonly spina bifida. I've been taking more folic acid than most pregnant women, so I'm hoping that helps. And my epilepsy is becoming more uncontrolled, so I'll be having bloodwork in a week to see if I need an increase in my meds again. So stressful!

For good news... Sometimes when I lay very still, I feel butterflies! I'm so excited about that!!

@jesstagirl:  I use my Zoot socks. They are a runners brand, but as long as you get the "recovery" as opposed to the "active" variety they would work.  I shot an email to my BFF who does this stuff for a living (not even going to try to spell her actual title) and will let you know what she recommends specifically.

@Peony007:  I'm sorry you're on the worry train. 8 more days for me until I can breathe easily again. I felt a thump last night. It was inside and very strange, but more than butterflies.  I am still missing the butterflies. So ... that may have been it? Or it may have just been my imagination. I am just not sure. And so the worry continues ....

@Mrs. Mole:  Woo hoo! Cute pic & congrats. Welcome to the March ladies.

Should we do another roll call soon?

Hey ladies! Sorry I've been MIA! It was a CRAZY weekend between family events, and work! So.... The big news... It's a GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone is over the moon (especially me!). DH and I had a great little gender reveal for ourselves, and a really fun cake one with the families. It was awesome! The baby didn't give us the perfect "money shot" because she was sitting on her butt, but our tech (who's amazing!) was 98.5% sure of it, and she said she's never been wrong before ;) We're still going to go for a 3D ultrasound, so we'll double check then!

I'm 20 weeks today. Sort of sad that I'm halfway already to tell you the truth... But I'm still feeling great and I'm a happy momma!

Does anyone else have angry pregnant lady/moms that they know? Like for instance, I've been posting weekly bump photos on FB which all my friends love, but I have one friend who's due in December who commented that she can hardly wait for me to grow out of the sweater I've been wearing in all the photos, and then another girl who just had a baby a couple months ago "liked" her comment. Why be rude?! Before our U/S a few moms made comments to me like not to get my hopes up because chances are the baby wouldn't cooperate and we wouldnt find out. Ya, there's a chance of that, but did you really need to try to hammer that home to me when you know I'm so excited?! What is UP with that?! And it's consistently been from other moms or pregnant ladies who know exactly what I'm going through. Why be so insensitive rather than supportive you know?

@iRun2004:  A thump is DEFINITELY it.  I never really got butterflies exactly.  Mine went right to the thumping.  He thumps like crazy :)

@Mrs. Mole:  Aw I LOVE that sweater and your bump looks so cute!  :)

@babybuzz:  YAY for baby girl! So exciting! I can't wait for more gender reveals!

I am 19 weeks 3 days. Called the doctor about the leaking feeling and he said not to worry but thought it was best if I come in to have him check everything tomorrow morning.  So fingers crossed that everthing is ok and I'm am just "normal leaking" and not amniotic fluid leaking!

@babybuzz:  AHHH A GIRL!!! Congratulations :) So exciting!! You had a photographer for the reveal, right? I hope you post a link for photos! I have on friend that is like a freaking Negative Nancy and it's really starting to bug me. EVERYTHING out of her mouth is either negative or tries to scare me. She's STILL telling me that she thinks I'm having twins. I've asked her to stop multiple times, too. What's up with that?

@iRun2004:  Oh thanks! I really appreciate you asking her about them!

@Mrs. Mole:  Thanks for the rec! I'll check them out!

@Peony007:  Thinking about you and hope the scan goes well!

@jesstagirl:  I vented to a friend about that EXACT issue and she agreed with me and said that people did the same thing to her during her pregnancy, and then went on to tell me about how awful breastfeeding was for her initially and how I should start going to breastfeeding clinics NOW because it's going to be so hard. Ummm thanks for scaring the bejesus out of me?! I know it's not easy for some women, but I also know for others it's not so bad. Can't I just wait and if I need the help go get it when/if the time comes?! No need for panic stations now!

@travellingfool:  Definitely with you on the discharge. Ick.

@Peony007:  Hoping your scan goes well too! I guess worry is just a thing I have to get used to now, for the next 20+ years, haha.

    @Mrs. Mole:  Yay, congrats, welcome!!!

@babybuzz:  Ahhhhh YAY!!!!! Congratulations, so sweet, I'm so excited for you Laughing

Everything looked good in our anatomy scan yesterday, so I'm really grateful for that. But if I'm being totally honest, I couldn't help feeling hugely disappointed with the whole experience.

We sat in the waiting room for two hours after our appointment time, so that didn't start things off on a good note. The sandwich I ate while we were waiting gave me wicked heartburn and I felt sick. When we finally were seen, our ultrasound tech was really young and didn't seem supremely confident.

Baby was all curled up and not moving at first, which made me really nervous... and then suddenly he/she was all over the place, twisting and flipping -- and it made it hard to get measurements. She did get them all though, and baby is measuring a little bit big still, but not enough to change the EDD. I am 19 weeks today, and it looks like baby is measuring almost 20.

We also told her we didn't want to know the gender, so she told us to look away when she got around that area, but we didn't because I couldn't tell what anything was on the screen anyway. Later in the appointment, though, she used the word "he" several times -- which makes me confused, like was she just using that as a placeholder, or was she slipping up? I didn't ask because I didn't want her reaction to give anything away, I'd rather wonder.

Anyway, it wasn't fun like the first ultrasound. I think I was too wound up and worried.

@DiamondsandLace:  She said "HE" after you said you didn't want to know? I would've been pissed! But I also wouldn't have wanted to ask, either. Ugh. I'm sorry your can didn't go all that great. Was it still nice to see the baby? I'm really worried about the tech I'll get. I've heard there's a really crappy guy who could care less about his job, so I hope I don't get him. Sorry you also had heartburn—I'm annoyed that Im already getting that after almost every meal sinc I've heard it only gets worse :(

@babybuzz:  Seriously, what is with everyone being so negative about it? Let us experience it for ourselves!

I was just reading a few blogs where the writers have had babies and I cried every single time I saw one of those fresh little faces. The thought of actually having the baby is pretty much the scariest thing I can possibly think about, though.

@jesstagirl:  Yes, it was definitely nice to see the baby! We saw the little hands and feet, and we even saw some gulping of fluid, so that was really cool.

She took a lot of pictures of the heart but told me not to worry about that, they just like to get as many of those shots as possible (I'm still worried). She had to do a transvaginal ultrasound because she couldn't see my cervix with the abdominal, but once she got a good shot she said everything looked great there too. She had the doctor check the photos too, she said since the baby was moving so much, and he didn't need to see me, he said everything looked fine. But the whole thing just made me uncomfortable. It's tough being pregnant and having next to no clinical knowledge... everything seems alarming.

@DiamondsandLace:  Sorry it was kind of a bummer. But glad it seems like everything was ok.  Our gender scan seemed like kind of a bummer compared to the nuchal.  Other than finding out the gender, we didn't get any good pictures and it was very short.

OK ladies, I am off to the doctor today at 11am because he wants to check and make sure I am not leaking amniotic fluid.  I am trying to remain positive and calm so send your calm thoughts my way, please!

@travellingfool:  I've had the watery discharge too.... wouldn't be too worried.

@babybuzz:  YAYYYYY! A little baby Girl!

@DiamondsandLace:  Ughhh, bummer about the U/S.  I'm with you, just assume that she was using "he" as a place holder.  The good news is that (unless someone does it again), it'll still be a surprise! 20 weeks! Half way there!

@jesstagirl:  I cry every time I read a birth story now! Weirdly, the birth isn't somethign that I'm real nervous about yet.... I have been telling myself that if Snookie can do it, so can I =)

I'm 17 +3 today and I STILL haven't felt the baby yet... I don't think.  I know that it's not TOO late yet, but I feel like I should be feeling something by now.  Can't help but let the worrying thoughts creep up about something being wrong.  I have had nightmares the last couple nights about going to our anatomy scan on Tuesday and the baby being gone.  Ughhhh... just get here Tuesday!

@travellingfool:  We didn't have a nuchal scan, but we did have a scan at 11 weeks to check the heartbeat and that one was much more fun/exciting/cute. The baby was punching and kicking and laying perfectly for great pictures. I guess I was just expecting this one to be even better, and it was decidedly NOT. Sending whatever calm/positive thoughts I can muster your way!

@jesstagirl:  Yeah, I'm going to try my best to remember that when my friends get pregnant and not brush off their worries or say things that will scare them even more. I don't know what I'd do without our little group here -- probably go crazy!

@MRSLMA:  I really wouldn't worry about not feeling the baby yet. (Easier said than done, I know!) I kept thinking I felt it earlier, but around 19 weeks is when I FOR SURE started feeling it. It was very distinctive and different than anything I've ever felt. My mom said she felt me at 16 weeks, so I was hoping that's when I'd feel mine move, but nope. 19ish weeks for me.

    @travellingfool:  Hope everything is okay!

@DiamondsandLace:  We didn't get to watch our anatomy scan, I'm jealous! She showed us for a few minutes at the end and pointed out organs, the spine, facial features, etc, but I didn't get to watch for the full hour. We got 5 photos, but only one of them was really good (a profile photo of her face).

@MRSLMA:  I've heard it can be up until 21 weeks when you can feel the baby, try not to worry too much. It'll happen in time and I bet when you do feel it, it's going to be four times as amazing for you!!! I have a girlfriend with the same due date as me, and she hasn't felt much movement at all at 20 weeks.

@travellingfool:  Best of luck at the doctors!

@MRSLMA:  Hey - so, I don't know if you followed any of my posts from last thread, but I was in the SAME spot.

I am 19w today, and I'm only now 90% sure I've felt baby move. Basically, I *thought* I felt it this weekend, and then this morning (in connection with ridiculous work stuff, I had a half caf cup of coffee - and I think baby got a little over caffinated) I became 90% sure I felt it.

Even so I'm not positive. Basically it felt like I was itching/tingling but on the inside instead of on the skin.

Anyway, FX it happens for you soon, but be patient. It will get there eventually. (and yes, I was not patient at all and was just straight up worried until I felt it - actually I'll probably still be worried until next week's scan).

Thanks to everyone else for reassuring me too.  Just one of the many reasons I love WB =)

Just for fun, my !7 weeks+ pic that I just took in my office elevator. Excuse the weird face, I was trying to move quickly =)

Thanks for all the calm wishes. Everything went great at the doctor's office.  I love my doctor.  He was so thorough and didn't make me feel crazy at all for being worried about it.  He checked my cervix (closed) the fluids (normal) and did a quick ultrasound to check fluid levels.  All perfect! So, I am just normal pregnant juicy. Ew. ;)  He also tried to get a picture for me from the ultrasound but he wouldn't cooperate.   Kept facing the ultrasound so we got an alien shot of it's skull.  But I got to see him again and he was doing his usual kicking and punching but he seems more squished than last time.  His legs were crossed, "indian style" and his arms were across his chest mostly. Little cutie.

@zen bride:  Yay for boys! I didn't realize you were so far ahead of me.  When is your due date? Your bump is super cute.

    @MRSLMA:  Cute! Nice and round!:)

@travellingfool:  glad everything went well! it is always SUCH a relief to hear from a professional that things are fine! my due date is march 3, so i guess i'm one of the earlier ones in our march group!

my bump really is growing now, today i officially switched to my maternity wardrobe and someone at work commented how big i'd grown (she meant it as a compliment).

@travellingfool:  Glad everything looks good and that baby boy was looking good=) It's always nice to hear that reassurance! I love my doc for the same reasons you love yours- they never make me feel like a 1st time, worried mom.  It's so nice, isn't it?

Thanks, everyone! I love all of your baby bumps. So cute!!

Have any of you been getting headaches, like migraines? I typically never do, but recently they've been so terrible and daily for over a week. My gyno and neurologist don't seem to really care either, but it could be a result/effect of either epilepsy or pregnancy. Googling infomation has just added stress to it as well. I'm not sure what to do. Sending more emails to them...
