Our wedding is on 10 March! I couldn’t be more thrilled that we have booked our venue. Next, I need to set up appointments to try on some dresses and ask my girl friend to be my Matron of Honor when I see her next weekend!

Engaged April 30th 2016, getting married March 30th 2018.

So far we’ve:

Bought the dress (November 2016, by chance at an awesome price)

Booked the venue (December 2016, looked at a few first)

Booked the hairdresser (January 2016)

Booked the cake – deposit to be paid when design is finalised (February 2017)

Booked the photographer (March? 2017)

Asked the bridesmaids and best men (April/May 2017)

Given notice of marriage – the legal bit (May 2017)

Started flowers by asking friends to craft one each (May 2017)

Bridesmaid dress shopping – this Saturday! (June 2017)

We don’t have a huge amount left to do, to be honest. The venue includes a lot like the food and DJ for example. It’s been really nice to be able to spread things out.

One of my bridesmaids (FIs sister) has designed our wedding invite so we need to finalise that and get save the dates/invites printed. That’s probably next on the list along with a wedding website which we want to include on the STDs for guests who need to book accomodation. We’re also looking for a B&B where the wedding party can get ready as we may have moved out of the area before the wedding. Hoping to have all those done by the end of July 🙂

BeeDD :  Wow and I thought I was ahead of the game. I seem like I’m beyond compared to you lmao I don’t plan to do any wedding planning this summer. I’m going to enjoy the summer and then pick things back up in the fall. We are date twins tho!

Engaged 2/15/16

Date 3/15/18

We are going to do our site visit at our venue the end of this month – Hyatt Ziva Cancun.

We will do our tastings and meet potential vendors the days we are there.

I have a dress (not sure it will be the one- I lost 30 pounds this year so far and plan to lose more, so I’m open to another dress later.)

We also have my church and a local venue booked for June 2018, as we switched direction from destination to local and back to destination last year.  For now, we are keeping the local venues for a possible at home reception. I had already started talking to 5 of their preferred caterers, but put those I had selected to proceed to tastings on hold.

Rooming contract signed with our Destination Wedding Travel Specialist.  She will handle guest payments directly.

Wedding website and communication app under construction.

Lots of potential decor purchased.

Still so much to do.

coffeelvr45 :  I am super organised and planning is my thing! I also like to be in control and can be quite single minded, so once something’s decided I know that’s it and I can go get it done. We had a few months of not doing anything before starting to visit wedding fairs/look at venues and by spreading all the “jobs” out, I feel very chilled about it. 🙂

Bridesmaid dress shopping yesterday went well; my ladies are very happy with their choices. It was so easy and they all found a great dress for them at the appointment we had so there was no need to carry on! I was slightly jealous of them trying on all these gorgeous dresses lol. I was told to expect the dresses to come in 5 months, so that’s November which is in plenty of time for alterations next year.

BeeDD :  Show us your bridesmaids’ dresses, please!

I don’t get to go bridesmaid dress shopping.  🙁 We are having our (grown) children as our primary attendents, so his/my new daughter will be  the only “official” MOH or bridesmaid wearing a dress.

We will have lots of nieces as flower girls, though, so flower girl dress suggestions welcome!

busycoloradobee :  My sister (MOH) and FI’s sister both chose Dessy 2995 (1 & 4). My friends chose Dessy 6714 (2) and Sorella Vita 8728 (3). My dress is Alfred Angelo 2524. The bridesmaid dresses are in Midnight, or the Sorella Vita one is Sapphire but it’s a close match.

Excuse the poor quality and model photos!

We are getting married on March 3rd at a park in Punta Gorda, FL! It’ll be a tent brunch wedding with yard games, food, and dancing. It’s on the water and under gorgeous palm trees. We are so excited!!! 😀 Less than a year to go!
