We have to give an estimate two weeks before, and our final count is due 3 days before, so March 2nd.
Most caterers need final numbers around 2 weeks out.
Also, you won't know your final numbers on Feb 10th with an RSVP date of Feb 5th. Check every previous RSVP thread....not super realistic, unless you can personally hunt everyone down that didn't RSVP (and it will happen)
since i made my reservation they ask for the number of guests, we are having 200
Oh wow, that seems like very early to me! My caterer is asking for an estimate a month out, then final numbers that Monday, which I find totally reasonable. Can you negotiate with them at all? That seems a little crazy to me!

Sorry, there are no users yet.
Today my caterer emailed me and told me we need to have a final head count to them by JANUARY 31st! That seems SO early to me, esp. since we're sending out invites 8 weeks early, on Jan 5th, with an RSVP by date of Feb 5th.
The invites are already printed, so frankly, tough sh*t for the caterer. I told her we'd do our best for a decent estimate by Jan 31, but would for sure know by Feb. 10th.
Do you ladies think this is early? It seems odd to me...
