Oh yay you're a March bride too! I'm pretty much done. Except I'm adding a sash to my wedding dress, so I have to take that up to the bridal shop, & I have to find my bridesmaids some shoes to wear. I'm having trouble with that! I have to pick out an officiant but my wedding planner is making it easy. So, not much more to do!!
2 more months!!!! :)
Wow, you guys are so ready, I'm totally not! Still need to finish and mail the invitations - trying to get it done by this weekend.
- need to make pomanders
-deciding on tuxes this weekend - FI is going for his fitting.
- I still have 2 bridesmaids that have not ordered their dresses!
- need to print kids activity books and assemble their baskets
- still deciding if I want personalized napkins or not
In a nutshell still so much to do!!
Vistagirl - Yes!! I am so worried about the weather!! Houston is usually warm by March, but you can never really tell. It will change from one weekend to the next. This winter has been so unusually cold, I hope it does NOT stick around! I'm starting to wish I wasn't so stubborn and booked the wedding in April or May. ;)
@Miss: Oh my goodness! Your girls better get on the ball with ordering those dresses! And actually, I haven't sent out the invites yet..I forgot to mention that! I'm doing that the end of this month :)
I'm somewhat worried about the weather! I hope hope hope it's nice!
Lees4308 - Oh I know!! I was on them and on them and most of them (there are 6) got it done and one did have to rush order it. The two left, one is my oldest friend and the other is her daughter. She is supposed to get them this week, but I am so worried that they will not be able to get it in time. What do you do in that situation? Are they just not in the wedding anymore? I wouldn't be that heart broken as our relationship has become very distant in the 2 1/2 years (!) I've been engaged...but I'd feel bad about her daughter. I've watching this little girl grow up and she's a sweetie and so excited about it.
Phew! I know its probably not a big deal that I didn't get the invites out by the new year like I wanted, but my RSVP date is Feb. 1 so I want to get them out with at least 1-2 weeks of that date! :)
Let's see, I/we still have to:
Find a florist (I only need 1 bouquet and 1 bout, so no biggie)
Order my veil
Choose a headband
Get my dress altered! It's coming in in February, good thing it's short...
Buy Fiance a suit/tie
Get my wedding band made (getting done this week!)
Hire fancy car to drive us day-of
Choose menu at reception venue
And other little things like a strapless bra and a wedding purse.
Oh I just remembered we still need to get our Marriage License! Don't forget that part :)
oh! I did forget that! I feel like for every one thing i cross off my list I add 2 that i forgot!!!
We have 7 weeks left!! Here's my list
-Get Df a smaller size suit jacket from all the weight he's lost. He also needs a white shirt and shoes
-Finish Ceremony
-Finish downloading music for the reception
-Buy bridal party gifts
-Pay off vendors
-Get headpiece/headband
-Pack
-Give final headcount (RSVPS are due on Friday!)
I think that's it!!! I'm getting so excited, I can't believe we are so close!
I can't believe we're almost at the two month mark! (And I guess some March brides already are!)
We need to print our programs - I'm going crazy waiting for my SIL to determine if my niece will really be our flower girl or not. I'd like to print them and get them over with!
Oh boy.
-Order flowers (after we decide on real or artificial)
-Finish counseling
-Dress alterations
-Centerpiece mockup
-Plan rehearsal dinner
-Mail invitations
-Find a place to live
-Check into insurances (combining)
-Finalize what decorations we need and finish buying them
-Engagement announcement in the local newspaper
-Finish etching toasting glasses and sand vase (and buy sand)
-Make our card box
-Discuss the ceremony with our officiant
-Set the day-of schedule
-Get marriage license
-Get our music to the sound guy at the church
-Finish paying balances
-Confirm with vendors
-Figure out how much food we'll need
-Print programs
And there's more, but I'm tired of typing.
Wow, that's a long list.
@samisomsam that is a long list- it looks kinda like mine. I only posted the highlights *gulp*
It's easier to say what we HAVE done:
- Secured a venue
- Bought a dress
- Ordered invites
Yeah. That's about it. Narrowing down the event package which will include the DJ, musicians, lighting, centerpieces, flowers, photographer, videographer, photobooth. All in one signature! I'll feel a lot better after that signature.
Then we gotta choose the menu. And the tux. And my shoes, etc. And do hair/makeup.
And plan the honeymoon. And find an apartment to move into.
Let's see....
I know that's not everything, but I'm going from off the top of my head...and that's a long enough list for winging it.
- flowers
-centerpieces
-fittings for me
-pay balance on dress/veil
-buy undergarmenty things
-decide on shoes
-find jewelry (should be easier now that dress is in)
- finalize cake order and design
- finalize DJ play/do not play list
- timeline
-finalize alcohol order with bartender
-oot bags
dammit I'm forgetting something already
on one hand i really appreciate this post and everyone's lists because it helps me out, but i also can't help but feel some serious anxiety! here's my incomplete list:
-fittings
-pay balance on EVERYTHING
-finalize menu for rehearsal dinner and reception
-make OOT bags
-make escort cards/favors
-programs
-menus
-ceremony
-finalize ipod music list
-finalize cake design
-create detailed timeline
-finalize flowers
-check in with vendors to get on same page, determine arrival times, etc.
-hound guests to RSVP
and that's not even the complete list!
@miss hot sauce: I totally forgot about this post!! I'm sure you did too. I actually had A LOT of trouble trying to get the girls to order their dresses. My deadline was September 30th & then the girls kept giving me excuse after excuse but finally ordered them around late October or something. If my girls were this late on getting their dresses and they haven't been giving me any kind of idea with what they're doing, I'd say yeah...they're pretty much out of the wedding. I hate that though for the little girl :( But it is how it is! I wouldn't offer them the $$ because they need to have some kind of commitment in being in your wedding.
I'm so sorry you're having to deal with that! I was so stressed after the girls not even ordering their dresses around September, I can only imagine the way you're feeling now. Just talk to them & tell them you love them dearly, but it's been way past the deadline now & you can't have the chance of your wedding not going smoothly. After you tell her that, if she decides that she wants to pay...then awesome! But chances are, she probably won't!! :(
SO EXCITED THOUGH LADIES...I'M NOW IN THE 1 MONTH RANGE...WOOP WOOP!!
@misspug when did you send out your invites if you can already hound guests? I am dying to know who is coming!!! lol
Girls I have 43 days and counting!! I bought my shoes and a headband over the weekend...running out of stuff to do!!!
