@HourThyme:  AWESOME! I got married in July and had a Mariachi band (I’m mexican) and people LOVED it. How about Ave Maria?

I’ve seen many a wedding with Mariachi music (also in Mexico). Mariachis can play pretty much anything – so you can always do a nice romantic bolero at the exit and or processional I.e. – Contigo Aprendi http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_O9vMXx0PY

You can also ask them to do it in instrumental.

Just avoid Amor Eterno. It’s a beautiful song, but not really the sentiment you want expressed. I’ll go through my sheet music and see what other songs I can suggest.

@HourThyme:  Yes ma’am. I’ve played mariachi for the past 3 years. People tend to request it without thinking. Check out El Cielo del Chihuahua and Paloma Querida. I’m on my phone, so I can’t get links. Some others that are good for parties are El Niño Perdido, El Cascabel, El Sihualteco, El terrequeteque, of course La Negra and La Bamba, Mariachi Loco. It’s always difficult finding actual mariachi love songs. Most of them are about love gone wrong or wanting your love back. If that bothers you, be sure to let the group know to avoid songs like that.
