Mariah finally realeased the names of her Twins what do you think
The little girls name is Monroe with no middle name because Mariah doesnt have one.
The little boys name is Moroccan Scott
My thoughts I love the little girls name not so crazy about the little boys name. Although I deff thought she would throw lamb or butterfly into one of their names lol
Monroe = cool esp for girl
Moroccan = eh. Morocco maybe, and then only if you had some connection to the actual country. Maybe she does, I dunno...
Those names suck. But it doesn't matter cause little Monroe and Moroccan are rich.
Love Mariah though!! Can't wait to see the babies!
They're both pretty "meh" to me, but if they love them then great. Plus, she is a celebrity, so I guess they're pretty tame names if you take that into consideration.
I hate Moroccan and I'm suprised at it because I really thought Mariah would be more over the top and that it would sound more um...royal(prob not the word I'm looking for so let's just stick with over the top) No seriously to each its own..if she likes it I love it! Monroe is cute...
"As for the inspiration behind the names, Monroe was named after Marilyn Monroe, who has been an inspiration to Carey, 42, while Moroccan comes from the top-tier of Carey's New York City apartment, which features Moroccan-inspired décor and was also the site of Cannon's marriage proposal. "
Pretty crummy reason to name him Morrocan, IMO.
The little boys name cracks me up!!! I knew a Moraccan STEVE!!! He dated a girl in my sorority and was from Morracco. I think his real name was Said (with the little dots on the i) but when we first met him we all thought he said his name was Steve so we started calling Moraccan Steve! LOL.
hopefully everyone will just call him Moe... My friend named her son MoTown (yes like the record label) and we refuse to call him that so we just go with Moe...
@MissSawyer: "tee hee! my interior decorator chose a Moroccan theme for my apartment, that'd be a good baby name!"
LOVE Monroe but Moroccan? Even worse, Moroccan Scott (two oppositie sides of the name spectrum if you ask me). Maybe he'll go by Scott as he gets older?
Lol, he is going to grow up HATING his mom. So. Bad.
I have friends who just named their kid Thor. Like, really? That movie comes out in a few days. Why would do that to him?!
@MissSawyer: Aww, bummer. I thought she'd named the girl after James Monroe the president. Sigh.
Ugh I think both names are terrible! Maybe they mean something special to her or Nick?
Not a huge fan of the name Moroccan. Maybe he'll eventually go by Scott or have a nickname. I like Monroe though. But to each his own. I like that they at least tried to pick unique names that weren't too outlandish. Mariah was my favorite singer back in the 90s, so I'm happy for her new little family.
I think that sat down and were like ok we must make a list of rediculous boys names that start with M's
All I can think of is Jm J Bullock as "Monroe" in the 1980s' show "Too Close for Comfort".
I agree w/PP, both names suck.
@Miss Lilac: Admittedly, my husband and I are huge Doctor Who fans. We have at least one name picked out for future children based off a companion. I think we're probably going to use companion or character names for children because we seem to like them. Also, my nephews are named after the grandfathers, so that name's already out and whatever they pick for the niece on the way. So, we're kind of forced to go in our own direction for baby names. Doctor Who is our direction.
Moroccan is terrible! poor kid will get teased for sure. Monroe is ok...would have to grow on me. Do you think she waiting to release the names because of what people might say about them?
Monroe isn't my favorite, but it's ok. But Moroccan? Two parents agreed to that? Can you imagine if THAT trend took off? Youd' have Moroccan Scott, French Joe, Italian Tom, Chinese Jeff, Egyptian Mike....YIKES....
I would much prefer Morocco than Moroccan, because there are a lot of location-names for kids. Ireland (Alec Baldwin's daughter), Paris Hilton, etc. But that's like naming a kid Irish or something. I don't get it.
Why do people have to get all matchy with twin names? They are two separate entities, their names can start with different letters.
I think both names are really quite awful. I'm tired of the whole "made-up" name trend.
I picture a lot of these type conversations in the kid's future:
A: Hi there, what is your name?
M: Moroccan
A: Ok... but what IS your name?
M: My name is Moroccan!
A: I understand it might be hard to pronounce for non-Arabic speakers, but I really just want to know your name!
M: That is my name! Moroccan, ok?! Moroccan Scott!
A: Moroccan Scott? What?! Whatever! A-hole!
